women only gyms ruled as 'violating anti-discrimination law' - connecticut

www.womenarehuman.com/women-only-gyms-violate-state-anti-discrimination-law-rules-supreme-court-of-connecticut/

Court case brought by two men wanting to abolish women only gym space. They won.

Backed by lots of trans groups. These groups appear to be less and less about improving trans rights, but more so about demolishing women's.

It makes me wonder, what is actually going on? what is this all really about? Is there weird sinister end point which is the overall goal?

Or is this absolutely confused activism? - endlessly pissing off people is not the way to gain social inclusion and respect.

Jordan Peterson said that when one group tries to make societal change, it needs to be a win win: that group will gain, but it needs to impac society as a whole in a positive way, in order for the change to be succesfully incorporated. 'trans rights' are not feeling like a win win.

It's rather chilling that men have decided women shouldn't be allowed to work out together without men to observe them. It's not like there aren't plenty of mixed gyms men can go to, and IME those tend to be dominated by men anyway.

Men lose nothing by women-only space, but women lose out if we don't have them.

OvaHere · 01/02/2022 22:03

The end goal I think is to force women out of public life as much as possible.

A sizeable proportion of men have wanted this ever since we started gaining those rights and they've finally hit on the perfect way to do whilst pretending they are super progressive.

Inclusion seems to be all about excluding women and girls.

Women of Connecticut need to list every single male only group, club, facility and shortlist and target each and every one. What’s sauce for the goose…

ArabellaScott · 01/02/2022 22:40

End goal is to remove women's rights, that's it.

Rightsraptor · 01/02/2022 23:09

So they are successful and, slowly but surely, they remove women's facilities. No more women-only gyms, swimming sessions, activities, clubs or organisations. No more women's toilets, hospital wards, sports ... on and on. Women will be forced to stay home, the urinary (and menstrual) leash is back, our health will be worse as we stop accessing health care due to uncertainty about who will be laying their hands on us, who will be in the next bed. We leave the workforce, where we have few rights as they've been amalgamated with men's rights, we have no safe changing rooms or toilets at work. Sexual harassment and assaults increase.

The economy suffers because of women's withdrawal from public life. By every measure, society as a whole suffers when women are inactive in it. I see little difference between the UK in 20 years time and Afghanistan now. Hyperbole? Perhaps. I hope so. Because sure as fuck I do not want my granddaughter live in that world.

Have they gone after the Girl Scouts yet?

Apollo441 · 01/02/2022 23:27

Women should definitely crash male only gay saunas. They get upset about that.

Thelnebriati · 01/02/2022 23:43

The further they go the easier it is to see the agenda.

Ozgirl75 · 02/02/2022 05:20

I’m a member of a women only gym in Sydney and I would be so upset if it was targeted by men. Men have about a dozen gyms in the area I live, including ones targeted at them (MMA type places in dodgy looking warehouses) as well as so many mainstream ones. Plus they could start their own if they were bothered.
In my gym we have a mixture of mums, lesbians, older ladies, younger women and those who wear a headscarf and take it off on the gym floor. I hate that men can think that their desire to come in to that specific place that women want, for themselves, overrules women’s desire to have a place just for them.
Luckily this doesn’t seem to be happening in Aus yet but I assume it’s only a matter of time. I hope Australian men are less assholish and demanding of the dissolution of women’s rights than Canadian and American men.

PaleGreenGhost · 02/02/2022 06:24

It's not win win, but it is taking us back to a place we've been before and a place other countries are at. Women's rights are precarious everywhere. Granted, or not, at the whim of males.

TheWeeDonkey · 02/02/2022 06:51

Its a Men's Rights Movement, thats what this is about. Always has been.

Yes the end game is the abolition of all sex based rights and crime, these people want to be free to abuse women and girls with impunity and they have found a convenient way to get society to blindly assist.

TheMarzipanDildo · 02/02/2022 07:29

Do these men think they are on The Right Side of History, or are they just incels?

VelvetChairGirl · 02/02/2022 07:32

What pisses me off is that it only took two men, how many women attend these places who's wishes have been ignored, damn sight more then two.

TheWeeDonkey · 02/02/2022 17:17

Who are those two guys going to ogle when the women stop using the gym? I think it's more of a lose lose than a win win.

Gobbolinothekitchencat · 02/02/2022 19:32

We lost women only swimming sessions at our local pool a number of years ago (England). I used to go occasionally and it was more relaxed then the mixed sessions. Not exactly sure if the press article of a local man training for some athletic event (recreation not a professional) and the ‘ladies night’ being the only one he could do thus triggering a complaint was the real reason it ended. I hope not, one man’s inconvenience against the enjoyment of many local women. We were, at that time, well served for council run pools so he had options, the women didn’t. He could have asked for a men only session, that would have seemed fairer than taking our session.
