@FOJN that video should be an OP.Very well done.
I agree. Can you do this, please? It will be more widely viewed, I’m sure.

This is the article that claims RD has moved away from her constituency.

whitstableviews.com/2022/01/30/why-canterbury-whitstable-needs-a-new-labour-m-p/?fbclid=IwAR1ELnYyGTrl4XB-bmVLdhuiN9m0bbMMvjXmcOvFMZumxOKBkj6JJAxEIzY

To be honest, I don't think Labour deserve Rosie. They've not supported her, they've apparently not stood up to call out libel or hatred within the party. They're a lost cause.

'“It is obsessive harassment. Neither the Labour Party or either the former or current leader or the whips’ office have done anything at all to stop it, to offer me any support, help or legal assistance.”'

That's stark.

I think she'd probably do better from the context of a different party - this Labour party are not one I recognise. They just seem twisted out of all recognition. On the whole, a party founded on generally sensible and fair policies is being destroyed by its inability to take charge and think rationally.

It's political purity, brocialism, and anger, and I don't see much else.

What even is the point of Labour anymore?

justaftb · 31/01/2022 09:51

I have emailed my Labour MP asking why they have not publicly supported Rosie.

Lurking9Till5 · 31/01/2022 10:57

Erm, I’d describe it as “accurate”, Gyll

These arguments against her really shine a light on the woo-woo don’t they?

Suzanne Moore has her own nickname for the fox killer!

Will start a thread for the Menno video.

@FOJN

WeeBisom

I'm not sure this video will last long!

51, 16 and 17 year olds have been referred for double mastectomy in Scotland.

And WPATH is vague about the appropriate age for irreversible surgery.

That video is up there with Nolan and Joyce's "Trans."

Such comprehensive and detailed research and reasoning. Ty mr menno.

It is very clear to any local residents who wrote this 'anonymous' article. The person who wrote this article has had a grudge against Rosie since before she was elected. During Rosie's election campaign she had posters up in her window saying she would support any other Labour MP than Rosie, and that she was refusing to vote at all due to Rosie standing. I have never ever seen any logical explanation for why, so I can only see that she has some personal vendetta against Rosie. She has now managed to spread hatred and mistrust of Rosie among local Labour party members, so much so that people who previously supported her and helped in the election campaign recently voted Green as a protest. Basically this is going to lead to us losing the only Labour MP in Kent, and getting another Tory in her place. So gutted and furious that she's being targeted in this way.

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 31/01/2022 12:20

I daydream about a political party focussing on women's rights with Rosie Duffield, Joanna Cherry, Joan McAlpine, Johann Lamont, Baroness Nicholson, Jackie Doyle Price and a bunch of other Tories.

They'd sort a thing or two out.

ScreamingMeMe · 31/01/2022 12:20

I love the word 'brocialism", may have to borrow

Labour don't seem to appreciate what they have in Rosie Duffield. Their loss, although I'm very sad for her.

GCMM · 31/01/2022 13:22

Rosie Duffield is my MP. I agree that she has been targeted by a local, very minor 'celebrity' (she writes crap books). For some reason this person seems to be able to influence the local CLP. Duffield is far from perfect, I don't even think she is a very good MP, but there are many who come into that category who do not get anything like the abuse she does. Duffield's gender critical views are what many left wingers can't stand and they will use any excuse to get rid of her, even though we will almost inevitably end up with another Tory MP, just like we had for almost 100 years before Rosie. Her opponents think that's a price worth paying to impose their will on her. Shocking state of affairs all round.

Rosie Duffield has been an amazing voice for women in Parliament. This whole movement is so anti-democratic- it is all about male power and sexual entitlement and silencing women who don’t conform. Why aren’t the main parties all uniting against that? It could be a cross- party thing- they could announce zero tolerance of misogyny?

I’m disgusted with Starmer’s Labour and all the main parties about their parts played in this issue. Starmer needs to support his MPs. Already appalling that Rosie Duffield MP felt unsafe to go to the party conference .I don’t blame her for feeling constantly let down by her two party leaders so far, even though I really hope she stays as an MP.

Article on CapX taking Rosie's side:

capx.co/a-safe-space-for-women-its-little-wonder-rosie-duffield-is-contemplating-leaving-labour/

I've seen this news source before and realised today it is funded by a Tory think tank, the Centre for Policy Studies.

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 02/02/2022 10:54

"Looks fragile"?

Oh, fuck off, CapX.

Joanna Williams in Spiked:

"In praise of Rosie Duffield
The Labour MP has stood by her commitment to women’s rights despite endless vile abuse."

Williams, who is a Canterbury constituent, gives a useful rundown of the story, how it all started - with a tweet, as in the case of JK Rowling - and developed.

What struck me on reading it, is that Rosie Duffield is someone who, like Rowling and Glinner, could have continued to bask in career success, celebrity and popularity, yet she, like them, didn't stay silent and didn't back down when those who'd celebrated her turned and went on the attack - Williams names some of the usual suspects and she doesn't spare the Party Leader.

Important article in the Mail looking at the reactions inside Labour to the recent attacks on Rosie Duffeild and the lack of support she is getting.
