At last, there’s a champion for women’s rights

Points out that the EHRC are doing their job.

Pleased to see the EHRC plan to release further guidance on women’s rights to single sex spaces. That sounds promising.

Igmum · 28/01/2022 21:58

Excellent article thanks for sharing OP

Helleofabore · 28/01/2022 21:59

Sounds promising, but I am not getting my hopes up with the guidelines or that they will be applied properly if they are clear in ensuring single sex is kept single sex, completely free of males.

Somehow, it seems like it will just be ignored unless forced through court.

Thanks for article.

highame · 29/01/2022 07:52

Glad to see David Isaacs gets a mention. He ignored women and allowed mission creep and now we're in this mess.

Thank you Janice

Many thanks for the share token! Janice Turner is such a good writer. Another excellent piece.

MalagaNights · 29/01/2022 10:05

This is so good.
Clear and informative. Not just an opinion piece but laying out the legal and political processes taking place.
People need to know this, and that it's not an irrelevant twitter battle.
Great work by Janice on this as always.

Goatsaregreat · 29/01/2022 10:11

Janice has pushed this relentlessly, exposing the twisted demands of this ideology to the eyes of an appalled nation. Brilliant journalist.

Abunchofyellowroses · 29/01/2022 10:19

Turner’s writing is a pleasure to read because it is so clear and direct. Great article and useful for all of us pushing back and supporting the rights of girls and women. My Saturday is getting brighter!

Clymene · 29/01/2022 10:30

She writes so beautifully that it's always a pleasure to read her articles. They're so articulate and clear.

ColMustardInTheLibrary · 29/01/2022 13:08

Such a good article from such a brilliant journalist.

I made a comment on the article and Janice upticked it! I’m probably supposed to be perfectly relaxed about this as if it is perfectly natural she should agree with me.

In fact I am very chuffed because I think she’s awesome so I thought I’d point it out here! Not very cool of me but hey ho 😬

I had not been aware of David Isaac as a key player in all this. This is a big part of the jigsaw for those wondering how Stonewall so swiftly and quietly captured not just the public services but the bodies that exist to monitor them.

Where is Isaac now?

Clymene · 29/01/2022 13:26

Isaac was until last year a partner at Pinsent Masons, a law firm. PM were ranked top in stonewall's diversity index scheme. What a coincidence!

He is now chair of governors at university of the arts London (which is all the London art colleges basically)

Pluvia · 29/01/2022 14:08

Does that include Goldsmiths, I wonder?

Clymene · 29/01/2022 15:01

@Pluvia

Does that include Goldsmiths, I wonder?
Nope. Goldsmiths is part of university of London.

Janice Turner is worth my sub to the Times on her own.

ChristmasPlanning · 29/01/2022 18:27

Great article. Thank you for sharing

@SirSamuelVimes

Janice Turner is worth my sub to the Times on her own.
And mine. She's about the only reason I have it!

Great writing Janice, thank you.
