On NOW.

OP posts:
PatsArrow · 23/01/2022 19:53

Both brilliant I thought.

Rightsraptor · 23/01/2022 20:05

They were both excellent.

Abhannmor · 23/01/2022 20:06

Bah. I don't have GN News. Might be something on Glinners podcast

PatsArrow · 23/01/2022 20:19

Andrew Doyle sometimes links YouTube clips to his Twitter after the event. Keep an eye out.

They were great. Sarah Phillimore took it right down to basics and was so brilliant and clear in her reasoning. Glinner caused a ripple with his 'misgendering' but he explained firmly and robustly. Saying we all are being gaslighted.

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 23/01/2022 20:39

I missed the beginning of it (thanks for the thread, @Abitofalark) - they showed the photos from Monica's account?

I think this could be key for peaking people.

nauticant · 23/01/2022 20:41

As @PatsArrow suggested, here's the segment on twitter:

twitter.com/GBNEWS/status/1485339935204904966

DoubleYouOhEmAyEn · 23/01/2022 20:41

Ooh I'm sure I'll catch up with it at some point. I love Glinner when he's in full flow.

DoubleYouOhEmAyEn · 23/01/2022 20:48

nauticant Glinner doesn't get going in that segment

nauticant · 23/01/2022 20:48

I should have said, the video on twitter I linked to is Sarah Phillimore's summary of what's been going on with the Guides.

nauticant · 23/01/2022 20:56

For those keen on seeing Glinner's contribution, there's currently a GB News livestream where you can see the whole thing. It starts a little over 20 minutes from the start of the video:

ShinyHappyPoster · 23/01/2022 20:56

It's a shame the Guide leaders weren't available or able to speak.

rabbitwoman · 23/01/2022 21:34

Great. Not seen Sarah phillimore speak before, and she is great - knowledgable, calm, articulate, she backs up her arguments with evidence, makes sense, sounds reasonable.

Just like Helen Joyce, Kathleen stock, abigail shrier, Julie blindle..... I can't believe that anyone would rather give weight to the nonsense spouted by the likes of Owen Jones or Grace lavery or India Willoughby on this.....

Cannot wait to see Helen Joyce and Grace lavery go head to head, I would pay fir a ticket, is it still going ahead? Someone I spoke to on twitter said he would debate with me on his YouTube channel (only 50 subscribers.....) and I said, yup, name the time..... Never heard from him again....

...... But as for glinner..... I think he is marvellous..... If I were a single lady....

Abitofalark · 23/01/2022 21:41

This was on the programme Free Speech Nation hosted by Andrew Doyle. GB News does sometimes repeat things so it might crop up again but I don't when or which programmes are repeated.

They were on for I reckon 20 minutes and had a good tour d'horizon of notorious instances, taking in a lot more than the girl guides scandal.

Discussion about two women who were scout leaders having lost their posts, while a person posting a photo in fetish gear with guns got away with it, which G said was because of male privilege. Merely expressing concern about that incident resulted in being reported to the police. AD referenced interviews under caution under the Malicious Communications Act, for which told no evidence of hate was needed. SP said this is unlawful. Three police forces had been contacted by the programme for comments.

G pointed out that saying a man is a woman is a lie yet even broadsheet national newspapers are referring to men as she. It is even in official statistics, so that women are appearing as paedophile offenders. And in court, thanks to that 'crazy bench book', Maria ? angered the judge for not wanting to call her attacker she and appeared to be penalised for that. That person is now fighting against men in Thailand - kickboxing. The crazy book has however been amended following an outcry, so it now says to take account of the sensitivities of the victim in court.

G said that when there is a war on reality it is a moral imperative to resist the taboo of misgendering. He noted that there is a small number of very dangerous men wanting to control the narrative and most trans people do not support it. The Girl Guides have a very strict safeguarding policy until it comes to this subject. Danger of creating a sacred caste which is what is happening here. Worry is more about the clever ones who will conceal and not be daft enough to post their fetish photos.

SP said you can have gender identity but you can't change sex and sex is important. She talked about being peaked and becoming active as a result of the NSPCC scandal of a member of staff posting a link to a photo of him masturbating at work and the organisation ignoring her complaint so she reported it, as she'd told them she would if they didn't act.

SP said the way to get anything done is by legal action via the courts. AD noted that after the court case which found the non-crime hate incident guidance and police practice unlawful, the College of Policing thought they would merely modify the wording and carry on. SP said that following a House of Lords debate, there would have to be a code of regulation rather than a mere change of wording. She told an anecdote about her little dog being on the police database for six years, something to do with being a Nazi - I didn't catch it but they all laughed at that.

AD mentioned sex offenders in prison. G noted that women in prison are vulnerable, many of them having suffered blunt force trauma to the head. SP said that self ID had first been introduced to prisons, deliberately, because nobody would care about women in prison.

AD said he'd invited people to come onto the programme to defend self ID and no one will.

Brilliant run down OP.

It was Maria Maclachlan (who got attacked at Speaker's Corner by Tara Wolf).

I think between Sarah and Glinner they Iz Jed a whole load into that segment. You could hear little gasps and see shocked expression on people's faces in the audience.

PatsArrow · 23/01/2022 21:47

*packed a whole load into that segment.

DoubleYouOhEmAyEn · 23/01/2022 22:02

Thanks nauticant much appreciated. I was trying to find a link myself but failed. Sarah Phillimore was very impressive, I look forward to her court case.
I've such a soft spot for Glinner. I could watch him all day.
GB News are doing a sterling job of getting more exposure for the travesties that are happening. Let's hope the resistance is gaining traction.

Linguini · 23/01/2022 22:04

They certainly did cover a lot.
AD brought up the stat that 48% transwomen in prison are there for sex offenses, so you have to admit that either sex offenders are abusing the system which proves it isn't foolproof, or that there's a high percentage of sex offenders in the trans community. Really important and not widely known.
It's had well over 3K views on YouTube.

The sunlight is great.

DontLikeCrumpets · 23/01/2022 22:09

what is GBNews and do you have a links? Thanks

Redshoeblueshoe · 23/01/2022 22:09

Thanks for posting, I'll watch this tomorrow

Abitofalark · 23/01/2022 22:11

Thank you, PatsArrow. I thought it was Maria MacLachlan but wasn't sure. They did pack a hell of a lot in and I didn't get it all but at least people who didn't see it will have some sense of what they covered.

OP posts:
Linguini · 23/01/2022 22:24

@DontLikeCrumpets

what is GBNews and do you have a links? Thanks
It's on Sky/Freeview/Virgin. Nigel Farage presents his own hour 4 days a week... Eamon Holmes left "This Morning" to go there... They pride the free speech angle.

It seems to be doing really well. You can find bits of it on YouTube if you search GBNews.

nauticant · 23/01/2022 22:28

Here's a link that goes directly to the part of Andrew Doyle's Free Speech Nation programme that features Sarah Phillimore and Graham Linehan:

ArabellaScott · 23/01/2022 22:42

Both were excellent. Thank you, Sarah and Graham.

TheMarzipanDildo · 23/01/2022 22:56

Thanks for pointing this out OP, it was a really good conversation.

BaronMunchausen · 23/01/2022 22:56

@Linguini

I think the 48% stat from 2019 is trans prisoners in general; for transwomen in prison it's 57%.
