Sorry if this has been posted, I also saw BoreofWhabylon mentioned this, thank you, I thought it warranted a thread if anyone missed as it's what we have been asking for re, the 'women's sport is complicated', Judy Murray, Michael Phelps comments.

Caitlyn Jenner lays it on thick and cuts through the bs saying woke doesn't work, standing up for girls and women's sport like a breath of fresh air.

OP posts:

Interesting given she plays golf against women.

Goatsaregreat · 21/01/2022 19:47

Goodness Blueberry - what on earth do you make from men and women who cohabit? Men and women who work together? Girls and boys who are in the same class?
Life must be very confusing for you. Hmm Grin

I guess caitlin is playing golf as in friendly golf not competing? 🤷🏻‍♀️ Though don’t they still belong to a mens only golf club as well?

Good to see they are are speaking up.

OhHolyJesus · 21/01/2022 19:53

Jenner says a lot of things. I'm not convinced even Jenner believes the words Jenner says out loud.

? What's that got to do with the price of eggs? Jenner has made repeated statements against trans women in sports when she herself plays and competes against women. If you can't see how that represents at best a certain hypocrisy on this issue, I don't know how to help you. Fact is, Jenner is a canny self-publicist who knows how to get herself on the news, from her own actions it's clear this is either not her true opinion, or else she believes she is herself an exception for some reason.
anothersmahedmug · 21/01/2022 19:56

I think the question being asked blue is if Jenner was playing social golf or playing as a woman in for profit /medals golf

anothersmahedmug · 21/01/2022 19:56

Because socially men and women do play with and against each other

BlueberryCheezecake · 21/01/2022 19:57

You guess wrong, she competes in women's tournaments.

When was the last one Blueberry? I can only find stuff from 2016.
BlueberryCheezecake · 21/01/2022 20:05

So? She was making similar statements back then too.

Goatsaregreat · 21/01/2022 20:11

So is she not a "true trans" Blueberry? As she has a different opinion to the trans bigots?

OldCrone · 21/01/2022 20:12

Can you post some links? Seems a bit odd that someone would participate in women's sports while at the same time saying they shouldn't.

But whatever Jenner was saying in 2016 isn't really the point. The point is that people sometimes change their minds. Renee Richards campaigned to be allowed to play women's tennis after transition, but now says that this was unfair, and that males competing against women is wrong.

BlueberryCheezecake · 21/01/2022 20:14

Yes, it does seem a bit odd, that's entirely my point.

BernardBlackMissesLangCleg · 21/01/2022 20:17

mmm, Jenner's picked a side though haven't they? they side they know will play well with the public

tide's turning @BlueberryCheezecake . You might get left high and dry

334bu · 21/01/2022 20:21

Doesn't change the fact that males who identify as women know full well that competing against women is totally unfair to the women. They know it is unfair but still choose to do it. Seems like cheating to me .

Caitlyn Jenner has been trying to run for political office as a Republican. A Republican opposing trans equality (or feeling like she has to do so in public to appeal to her voter base, even if her private behaviour contradicts it) is not exactly evidence of the "tide turning", and I'd honestly rather be high and dry than be a Republican.
CompleteGinasaur · 21/01/2022 21:19

How is she opposing trans equality, BlueberryCheezecake? I thought trans people had the same rights in law as anyone else?

allmywhat · 21/01/2022 21:20

Yes, it does seem a bit odd, that's entirely my point.

I think the person saying it was a bit odd was politely saying they don't believe you. I think it's a bit odd that you didn't understand that, considering they asked for a source at the same time. Anyway, please do post a source for your claim that Caitlyn Jenner was competing in a woman's golf tournament in the same time period as saying that transwomen shouldn't compete in women's sports.

RufustheFloralmissingreindeer · 21/01/2022 21:26

That’s probably the last time

Jenner probably educated herself….and changed her mind

FeckTheMagicDragon · 21/01/2022 21:56

I didn’t know Caitlin Jenner played golf competitively against women. That’s news. Either they are a massive hypocrite or Blueberry is grasping at straws …. 😄

CompleteGinasaur · 21/01/2022 21:59

That either/or is a trick question, right?

RufustheFloralmissingreindeer · 21/01/2022 22:06

feck

Jenner may well have played comparatively against women before 2016…then realised how wrong it is and is now saying that it shouldn’t happen

So maybe not being hypocritical

But yeah…grasping at straws

(And is feverishly googling as we type )

NotBadConsidering · 21/01/2022 22:28

What I personally find hypocritical is the way posters like Blueberry repeatedly admonish us for the way we talk about trans people and yet here they are criticising a trans person because it’s someone who doesn’t toe the party line.

A TRA poster not happy with the hypocrisy of a trans person, and now all of a sudden that makes Blueberry right and everyone else wrong. The irony 😆😆😆.

RufustheFloralmissingreindeer · 21/01/2022 22:31

Completely agree with that notbad

Very much ‘one rule for me…’

334bu · 21/01/2022 22:46

Caitlin may well be a hypocrite but the fact remains that male athletes who identify as women know full well that ,when they compete against women, they have an insurmountable advantage.
