Refreshingly, the material refers to 'women and girls'. However, this is produced by the WAGGGS rather than GGUK so it has to consider Guides in less 'inclusive' countries. Here is a link for the material and I've attached a screenshot below.

I'm hoping this will make GGUK think a little more closely about how they are approaching sex and gender.

Practical reasons, like it's more difficult to run to safety in a skirt, or cultural, for example it's not acceptable to go out without x item of clothing. Responsibility for saving young children or carrying babies. It all adds up.

And women do not learn to swim if they have to be covered at all times. They drown very quickly because their clothing gets waterlogged and heavy in seconds, also, as previously stated, they are likely to be carrying children. They have got no chance really if water is involved.
