I'm interested in language and listen regularly to the World Service - it is much more measured and balanced often than Radio 4 on a whole range of issues. Note the language they use to summarize the programme - I can't help thinking it's a fair bit more neutral and factual than other channels have used when introducing Kathleen Stock:

'Stephen Sackur speaks to philosopher and author Kathleen Stock whose views on the immutability of biological sex and the limitations of gender self-identity have made her a hate figure for some transgender activists and supporters. Why has debate about sex, gender and identity become a culture war battleground?'

Well worth a listen.

I watched it on iplayer, instead of listening to it and liked being able to see the conversation. I've listened to Hard Talk occasionally on the World Service. Martina Navratilova was on it a couple of years ago. Steven Sackur's approach is to ask challenging questions. What impressed me was not only Kathleen's answers but also how she spoke in whole sentences! It's well worth hearing or watching.
