Via @Glinner ‘s substack.

Repeat offender Rayne Bennett says prison broke them and that the prison system is too dangerous for trans women. The article left out that they were incarcerated for sexually assaulting a 14 year old girl.

@Artichokeleaves

The answer to keep vulnerable male prisoners safer is either radical overhaul of the male system or TW units. Which the govt and Downview tried. The TW didn't want them.

Keeping male prisoners safer is a very important thing. I'm all for it. But it does not equate with putting them in with non consenting female prisoners, which is what this is all about. Meeting male needs does not equal using females as service animals. Ever.

You know, if it's a choice between not giving TW prisoners EXACTLY what they demand, and keeping female prisoners safe, I'll go with the TW units and they can like it or lump it. Why in hell is the prison system falling over itself to accommodate the demands of individuals who they already know to be manipulative and dangerous? FFS.

Just nipping in to see if 🫐 cheeze or margarita pie have commented yet? No..? How odd.

NotAGirl · 16/01/2022 17:01

I don’t understand why they felt their appearance created a problem from their and stint in prison Confused they may define themselves as a transwoman but they look male so their shouldn’t be a problem

@BernardBlackMissesLangCleg

what evidence do we have that this person is actually trans?

define 'trans'

he said he felt he was a woman. i thought that was all that's required?

I thought I could explain, but apparently that's not allowed!

It's the fact the notion of gender identity has some quasi-legal status but no other self-declared identity does that gets me. You can't identify as a Young Offender and you can't expect anyone to respect the fact you identify as innocent and let you put of prison, but you can expect the Prison Service to play along with your gender identity even if it harms, endangers or inconveniences others? Why? What's so special about genderfeels versus anyotherfeels?
