Unsure if this hasn't been bought up already, but looks like Swansea is the next target for those looking to dismantle womens rights.

I've blanked out the name, although the account in question has now been deleted. Basically gunning for the feminist society to be disbanded and done for misconduct, calling anyone who stuck up for them on twitter "stinky" (that's the level) and in the grand tradition of the crybully has now left twitter.

What is concerning now is the tweet from Swansea Uni, the usual rollout of talking about "student safety", and "diversity" and being safe and included. The wording basically doesn't bode well for the feminist society, although I hope I'm wrong.

I saw this before she(?) went off twitter. Claims to be a lesbian, but that could mean TW or in a relationship with one. It's a shame they(!) Seem to be on the right side of many issues and are probably very young from the name calling. I am not on twitter, too much temptation for righteous keyboard fury! So I have probably missed bits.

One sign of hope is that apparently there has been complaints before about the Feminist Society believing in free speech and including rad fems and the Uni ignored them. The society have done well in laying out their case. We shall see how it plays out, but especially with outside support we can hope it works out.

The response from the Feminist Society is so impressive. Like the feminist societies at St Andrews and Bristol Uni, these young women are seriously brave, and eloquent in defence of their sex. I've written to the VC.
It's infuriating that universities are so uninterested in the safety of their female students (and staff) or in their obligation to ensure free speech on campus.

We’re backing these fantastic young feminists locally - the Vice Chancellor, plus the Student Union President and CEO are all being put on notice in writing from women. The more emails and letters the better - the Uni Feminist Society want and need our coordinated support. The WRN, Merched Cymru and Resisters group are all behind them. Merched’s post above has the email details - please help us support these young women who are holding firm and have put out an incredible statement.

Been in touch with the Uni Conservative Soc they are already backing Femsoc to the hilt.
