No mention of transwomen out to ruin it but comments are open

No but there’s lot of talk of gender when they mean sex and wanging on about how wonderful “mixed gender” events are

In the past I would haven’t paid any attention, now I think that it’s entirely deliberate

I have been moderated but I notice somebody sneaked this one through

I wondered which comment had been removed. It won't let me recommend the Lia Thomas one either.

I'd say it'll be closed for comments in about 15 minutes.

I said women's sports should be kept for females only

I meant the guardian saying 2021 the year of women in sport was nauseating

My comment has gone as well. The Guardian really don't seem to want to celebrate the achievements of some (male) women :)

They will block the obvious stuff but try mentioning the names of women cheated by transwomen or who are campaigning against them.

It is worth mentioning all the retired athletes who still do their bit campaigning for women's sports, women like Martina Navratilova, Chris Evert, Nancy Hogshead Makar and Sharon Davies are great champions for the cause

Wonder how long it'll stay there, though.....

I see all mentions of Lia Thomas have gone - and the comments are now disappearing completely whereas earlier they came up as "this comment has been removed".

At least in the Times you can see when top comments are removed - often the gist can be got from the replies, and the number of recommendations can be seen. The Guardian don't just delete comments; they want to pretend there is no controversy at all.

No chance-my account has been blocked from commenting. When I asked why they said because I "ranted" about GC stuff. (i.e. didn't bow down to the TWAW mantra)

I had missed that this comment was likely tongue in cheek! Having a chuckle now though over this and all the other “Now you see it, now you don’t” comments that have sneaked over the line!
