Is a youtuber woman who has stirred up the cancellation mob by mentioning MN.

It's the usual, calling for her removal from platforms (successfully), various name calling and slurs, some sanctimonious hand-washing.

Anyway, documenting it here because cancel culture is real and TRAs love suppressing and punishing the free thoughts of women.

Funnily enough I had never heard of her until yesterday, when I watched her excellent video with Tom Scott and found her channel. I am so sorry she is having all this done to her. And pretty unimpressed with Tom Scott's ridiculous "I promise to do my best not to work with transphobes anymore" response. Wonder if he actually read what she said?

What is Jill bearup's position, then? Because I am automatically blocked on twitter - I have never heard of her or interacted with her before, but the type of people who usually have me automatically blocked on twitter aren't the type of people to align with mumsnet.....

He's discussed it with Jill and "Her reply is complicated." By which I interpret it to mean that they both have firmly held beliefs and have agreed to disagree.

He adds

Jill Bearcup like many other people was further peaked after watching the assault on video in 2017 of the 60 year old Maria MacLachlan by a Trans activist at Speaker's Corner, a crime for which the TRA was found guilty and fined.

Obviously as a martial artist who spars with men she knew how evil that assault was. She took down her commentary on the assault from her website years ago I am not sure why I remember it being pretty angry. It was called "If You Strike Them Down They Will Become More Powerful Than You Can Possibly Imagine". Bearcup was startled by viciousness of the attack and she said such violent scenes would backfire on whatever point the TRA were trying to make. Unless the point was that young biological males can assault old women easily I guess.

Of course she was right the attack on Maria set in course the creation of A Women's Place and brought more people than ever to meetings.

So yesterday I did what I should have done earlier, and explicitly asked Jill if those deleted posts do still reflect her views. Her reply is complicated. I’m being vague because trying to summarise would be inaccurate and unfair, and would also spark unhelpful, endless debate.
