"There will be some instances where we do use the term ‘women’. For example, if we’re referencing research that only included cis women, or did not distinguish on the basis of gender identity."

Why on earth could they not have said natal or biological women. Cis is not a word. Highly offensive.

We are now "Women+" according to Bodyform.

And funnily enough scientific studies that study menstruation will only study females. Coz like biology. Arrrghhhh

Agggg that’s so annoying - I’ve chosen them over ‘always’ for last year because they did it too.

CorrBlimeyGG · 28/12/2021 16:02

Hundreds of thousands of women living in poverty in the UK, yet this is what you're bothered about.

Bitofachinwag · 28/12/2021 16:03

Oh dear, what san pro brands realise that only women have periods?

I am so sorry that you are of the disposition where you can only think about one thing at a time.

How do you function?

MaryAndGerryLivingInDerry · 28/12/2021 16:06

Ahhh FFS! Who can I buy from now?

CaptainCarp · 28/12/2021 16:06

They held on for quite a while! As pp I'd started buying them instead of always who decided the symbol for female was offensive Xmas Hmm

Artichokeleaves · 28/12/2021 16:06

What is the point in referencing research about women with a particular political view in terms of their periods? Are they going to reference Libra women? Green voter women?

Female people go on being the only humans having periods regardless of how they choose to politically affiliate and identify.

Can you link your threads discussing that situation please - it would be interesting to read them.
SirVixofVixHall · 28/12/2021 16:08

And I bought Bodyform because they don’t irritate me or the dds and hadn’t spouted any “people who menstruate” type nonsense.
We mainly use period pants anyway but sometimes use Bodyform. Not any more !

I'll get the scolds bridle out immediately.

Bad woman. Bad. Shame.

NoToLandfill · 28/12/2021 16:13

Yep. I am genuinely sad to report that. Saw it on an email as I'm on their mailing list. I had bought the period pants. Because at that point they were the only company to use the words women and female.

Who can we buy from now? Do I have to crochet my own?

Artichokeleaves · 28/12/2021 16:39

I went reusable when Always went down, and haven't looked back. Much better environmentally anyway, and the difference without the chemicals also interesting to notice.

tinselvestsparklepants · 28/12/2021 16:39

Can I recommend ecofemme.org if you are after pads? I've been using mine for about 4 years, they are really reliable.

elliehamster · 28/12/2021 16:46

Another good reason to use washables.

hawleybits · 28/12/2021 16:55

Moon cup? Problem solved.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 28/12/2021 16:56

I use cheeky wipes reusables. Much better.

MarshmallowSwede · 28/12/2021 16:59

I’m pregnant at the moment so having a period, but I can recommend Moon cup or another reusable menstrual cup. I got mine when I was in the UK from boots and it definitely improved my period experience.

It’s sustainable as it last for about 10yrs. And clearly no one thinks a man would use a menstrual cup.

Mentions it’s designed by women. If they start doing this „people with periods” nonsense for moon cups then I will be surprised. There are many other companies that make them, but this is one I was using before pregnancy.

Also keep in mind what size you order as it goes by if you have given birth before or not.

MarshmallowSwede · 28/12/2021 17:03

*not having a period at the moment. I definitely recommend the moon cup. Or any menstrual cup.

Bitofachinwag · 28/12/2021 17:36

Thanks

Zerogravity · 28/12/2021 17:38

ecofemme.org
I guess they'd have to completely rebrand if they go down the same route!

AnotherMansCause · 28/12/2021 20:52

I mostly use a menstrual cup, & occasionally use washable pads. So much more comfortable, & cheaper in the long term. And better for the environment.

Hummingbirdcake · 28/12/2021 20:59

Natracare. No perfume or plastic.

I don't claim to have all the answers about how to solve poverty for women but I'm damn sure that using dehumanising language to describe women in order to deny the biological reality of being female, doesn't help.

So glad you've come along to tell us of this one, singular issue that we are allowed to care about and talk about. As per PP, I'd love you to link to all the threads you've started/contributed to on the subject since that's obviously all you talk about as well?
