Thought you would all enjoy this little bit of guerrilla feminism spotted deep in the New Forest, Hampshire today. Brought a little Christmas cheer to my sister and I!

@BlueberryCheezecake

Agree with EarthSight, the forest is not the place for your hateful graffiti. Imagine being a trans person out trying to enjoy nature and get away from it all and you come across an anti-trans message scrawled on a rock, and it reminds you that to some people, you're just not welcome to so much as exist in the world.
How is "feminism is the radical notion that women’s safety matters more than men’s need for validation" possibly "hateful"? Do YOU believe that men's need for validation IS equally important as or more important than women's safety? If so, perhaps consider simply saying "I am a misogynist!" and leaving trans people out of it.

There's nothing "hateful" in this thread, pictures or words, except YOUR transphobic post, which takes a wild leap from "men" to "trans people", and another wild leap to assume that either group is as a whole so incapable of self-control that being asked or expected to behave in a cooperative, equitable and non-bigoted manner constitutes a threat to the existence of the invididual.

Perhaps you should report your own post.

"feminism is the radical notion that women’s safety matters more than men’s need for validation"

Is it women's safety that is 'anti-trans', Blueberry?

bluebling · 25/12/2021 15:40

That message is not hateful

WarriorN · 25/12/2021 16:01

Blue.

It's not about you.

Hth.

EarthSight · 25/12/2021 16:47

Oh sush @BlueberryCheezecake.

My views on political littering, advertising, defacement or graffiti in places of nature extends to your beliefs as well. Thought I needed to point that out unless it wasn't obvious already.

Leafstamp · 25/12/2021 20:40

Whether or not posters think the message should be in the forest, I just want to clarify/reiterate that @BlueberryCheezecake has stated that it’s hateful and anti-trans to state that women’s safety is more important than men’s need for validation.

I repeat, Blueberry has said:
It’s hateful to state that women safety is more important than men’s need for validation

Wow.

ChattyLion · 25/12/2021 22:21

What a lovely thing to find!

MsFogi · 25/12/2021 22:29

OP that is bloody marvellous - I think I may be joining this movement in addition to continuing to leave a significant number of stickers in my wake...

It's only anti trans if you believe TW are men, surely? It doesn't mention TW, it's about women's rights. Xmas Confused

Can you explain why it is transphobic?

FreeBritnee · 25/12/2021 22:35

I like the idea of such a message beneath a beautiful stone in a beautiful place. Perhaps washing up on the beach.

This I have a friend who has recently come out as trans. Trying to imagine going for a walk through the forest with him and coming across that. Just why?! Have your beliefs by all means, but I can't comprehend physically putting messages out there like that to potentially make somebody 's day that little bit shittier/harder/upsetting (and if anyone's reaction to that comment is boohoo hurty feelz, that says more about you than me.
NoNotMeNoSiree · 25/12/2021 22:50

Just for clarification my friend is a trans man which is why I'm using he pronouns.

aramox1 · 25/12/2021 22:52

It's a very poor definition of feminism

Goatsaregreat · 26/12/2021 00:13

Love that message - wherever it's placed. People depending on women for constant validation to believe they exist need help.

lovelyweathertoday · 26/12/2021 00:39

Just why?!

I don't understand - why would the message upset a woman who identifies as a man?

NoNotMeNoSiree · 26/12/2021 01:19

Well, being trans it's going to feel a bit shitty coming across an anti trans message when you're just out for a walk whether you're a trans man or a trans woman. I don't care what anyone says, that message definitely is anti trans even if you argue its for women's rights - going on about validating men's feelings is whether you like to think it isn't or not.
CovidPassQuestion · 26/12/2021 01:24

Where does trans anything come into it? The message is a definition of feminism.

NoNotMeNoSiree · 26/12/2021 01:36

Ok, if you say so.

That is such utter bullshit, and I know you must know it! Grin
You're telling us, presumably with a straight face, that that sign is nothing to do with trans people?!
You're seriously going '' It means men, not trans women, No, You're Transphobic silly for even thinking such a thing!''
As if lol

NoNotMeNoSiree · 26/12/2021 01:44

Gaslighting.

CovidPassQuestion · 26/12/2021 01:59

To counteract the derailing perhaps?

NoNotMeNoSiree · 26/12/2021 02:09

oh shush @blueberrycheezecake**
Did you really just do that
What happened to wanting a debate?
We're on page 2, we've had a dissenting view and as a result already a shush, an attempt at gaslighting and an accusation of derailing.

I am confused as to how this slogan might upset passing trans people of either sex or any gender.

Maybe Blue or Willis, sorry, Siree, could clarify as to which bit of women's safety they don't like?
