The presenter got a good point across too, that the decision to allow these males to compete comes from a position of empathy, but all the empathy is given to one individual, and not given to hundreds or thousands of women affected by it.

Yes, he did. Interestingly I came across the link on a swimming subreddit where the last thread I saw mentioning Lia was headlined with an instruction to be kind. (Disclaimer, there may have been other threads, I don't go on reddit very often and this just popped up on my feed)

"Be kind" feels like the terminology of abuse these days. I get an uncomfortable shiver every time I see or hear it because it's usually accompanied by some sort of extortion or demand for women and girls to act against their best interests.

Quite. It is hard to miss that male people wanting these boundaries removed are never exhorted to be 'kind' to the females they wish to displace and disadvantage.
