I remember the Hampstead swimming ponds situation where women said at the time that Jewish & Muslim women would be unable to use the ponds as their religion forbids them sharing spaces with men, so it follows that the same will happen with those women when it comes to changing rooms and gyms.
I also remember the ridiculous man that is the health minister in Scotland saying that refugee muslin women shouldn’t have to share their spaces with me they were unrelated to, and yet he can’t, or won’t see that no women should be expected to share our spaces with men in dresses.
And what women said would happen
did happen, in that male people now have their preferred choice in the moment of the best pool to fit themselves most sensitively and carefully respecting all aspects of them -
and female people who can't share mixed spaces cannot use the pools at all, and are excluded, many of whom have protected characteristics.
This is supposed to be not only a good thing, but progress under these politics: which is only justifiable if you think the special care of some male people outweighs the actual inclusion and access at all of female people.
Dictionary definition of male supremacism is interesting. Just saying.
