Just flagging this article in The Times yesterday about one school's approach to cancel culture.
South Hampstead High School found that many young people when questioned say that they self-censor themselves, but that they would like issues to be openly debated. As a result, the school has organised debates on whether JK Rowling was right to be concerned about the phrase 'people who menustrate' and who might benefit and who might be disadvantaged if GP surgeries stop using the word 'women'.
This is the approach that should be taken. These issues should be approached in the same rational way as any other. Such a shame it now takes courage to do so.
