I was looking at a FOI response from the House of Commons re their interaction with Stonewall. A couple of items in the response intrigued me, namely;

10/05/2017 AC/HOUSECOM/STONEWALL IN HOUSE ALLIES PROGRAMME £6300

03/12/2018 A/C/HOUSECOM/STONEWALL IN-HOUSE TRANS ALLIES PROGRAMME HOUSE OF COMMONS 22-NOV-18 £6300

The first www.stonewall.org.uk/workplace-allies-programme covers LGBTQ+ and the second www.stonewall.org.uk/workplace-trans-allies-programme is specific to the T.

Two observations, firstly, £6300 for a 5 hour workshop (including breaks), nice little earner. Secondly, Stonewall's overt training focus on the T is more evidence as to why the LGB Alliance is necessary.

Oh, there is some fascinating reading to be done about how Stonewall came to focus more about the T than the LGB, and how they were repeatedly asked to discuss the potential conflicts and how to manage them - of course we know that their stance was #NoDebate. And so the need for the LGB Alliance.

The worry is that Stonewall took their stance on this directly from Northern America.

We're lucky in that Stonewall are known, very well known and so their actions will have always been exposed in the end. We also have a strong history of LGB/Feminism in the UK so something cropping up like LGB Alliance was inevitable.

In America it's more insidious, there isn't one main lgbT lobby group, who's actions can be directly exposed and opposed. The ideology is spread far and wide within lots and lots of different campaign groups and it will take a million times more effort to challenge them all.

The reason why I'm mentioning America at all, I'd love it to be insignificant, but all the main social media platforms are based there and their politics has a huge undeniable influence on ours.

Gender ideology is almost impossible to challenge over there, it's almost like the religious right are the only people doing it, which is very unfortunate.
