It never happens.

But guess what happened?

OP posts:

“I didn’t do anything, it was her fault,” Jones said.

After this quote from the perp, the article goes on to discuss sad things that happened in the perp's life so we all know now we should feel bad for perp and ignore the facts of the crime. Not sure if all Auckland criminals get this treatment, but it comes across as if we should have more compassion for this perp than others.

No comment on how the victims must feel.

Every single fucking time. Blamed on their dysphoria, shit upbringing. Such bullshit.

Man sexually assaults and attacks a woman.

There. Fixed it.

WomanStillNotAFeeling · 07/12/2021 16:09

‘Pedo tries to rape a woman in the street’

Not hard is it

FemaleAndLearning · 07/12/2021 16:29

Makes me so bloody angry. The trans activists need to get their house in order and denounce these people and show respect as to why women and girls need to be protected.

EmpressCixi · 07/12/2021 16:38

I understand this case it was not a female sexually assaulting another female. But it’s not true that it never happens, I have been sexually assaulted by a fellow woman. I was just minding my business at a house party when this dark haired woman barged over, grabbed my head and planted a slobbery disgusting kiss on my lips. I freaked and pushed her so hard she fell over and spilled her drink all over herself. And I was told I had over reacted. And yes, I am a female woman born one etc etc.

When people say 'it never happens' in relation to this article they are not talking about women assaulting women.

I see the first derailer of the season has arrived. A bit like robins and Christmas.

AlfonsoTheUnrepentant · 07/12/2021 16:50

That was in response to @EmpressCixi's post.

Except for @FelinaDaHousecat
Who said Women can, and do, horrible things but we do not jump to sexually assault strangers.

FOJN · 07/12/2021 17:00

Does anyone know if the offender will serve their time in a men's or women's prison?

Yeah thanks for that. So sexual assault is only assault if it’s man on woman, then? Thank god you’re not part of any victim assistance, your empathy is underwhelming.

Probably a woman's prison, because after all the poor attacker is a victim.
FlyingOink · 07/12/2021 17:47

So, I guess we've all been reminded to be very precise in what we say. 99% of sexual assaults are carried out by men. Not 100%, so there will be some carried out by women, but in general women are less violent. Of the 1% of sex attacks carried out by women, some will be joint enterprise convictions in cahoots with a male sex offender. Some will be attacks by women on strangers I guess.

Sorry that happened to you, cixi. Do you think the article headline is misleading?

AlfonsoTheUnrepentant · 07/12/2021 17:57

This thread is about a particular sexual assault by a transwoman; not about sexual assaults in general.

RoaringtoLangClegintheDark · 07/12/2021 17:58

Gaslighting.

Gaslighting is used by abusers to make their victims doubt their own sanity. To destabilise them, wrongfoot them, make them think they are the ones with the problem. Make them think they are the problem.

This is gaslighting of epic proportions and it is harming women.

I am sorry that happened to you, but glad you had other people there and that you were able to defend yourself against her.

The story in the OP was about a person with a male body assaulting a woman, having previous form for assaulting a child.

I find many things about this newspaper write up to be disturbing. Not least the sympathetic write up for the convicted paedophile sex offender. I also find the level of detail that is reported about the actual attack to be inappropriate. Plus the mitigating language used. A woman was physically attacked by a stranger, threatened repeatedly with rape and sexually assaulted. But that's not how it was described in this article, which makes it seem like it was a minor disagreement.

See I think the detail might be inappropriate but it don't half make it clear what happened. I think the journalist did well.

The requisite sad backstory for the perp notwithstanding

I had a drunk woman kiss me in a club once, when I was much younger and it was yeuch. I've known women who have had similar experiences. But the perpetrators, [from the stories I've heard] had had one too many [not that that's an excuse] but they always took the rebuff as final and that was that.

An unwanted kiss from a real woman, isn't the same thing at all. I don't know why you even feel the need to bring it up!

FlyingOink · 07/12/2021 18:28

Because we forgot to mention women do it too

I’m sorry, that’s awful Flowers the fact that assaults by women are rare does not mean they never happen, people are wrong to say that.

Regarding the article, I think, unfortunately, British newspapers are obliged to go with the gender identity of the perpetrator- I don’t know if the guidelines prevent them from referring to ‘transwomen’ (which would be more honest at least) rather than woman though.

@DifficultBloodyWoman

I angry with every word you say. Why should we be 'polite' when talking about these men.

That is just standard reporting. The report is about a court case and legally must contain both sides of the case. Mitigation presented by the defence forms part of this. The judge's summary at sentencing is the end of the story in the court room, and the conversation opener for the public. Before then, it cannot be discussed publicly (in Australia).
