Can anyone recommend any good podcasts on transgender issues/women's rights etc please?

I'm currently listening to the BBC Sounds one about Stonewall, but would like to know if anyone can recommend any that give a more general discussion?

Off the top of my head, there are lots of great episodes on Savage Minds with Julian Vigo
Some relevant ones on Honestly with Bari Weiss
Lots of fascinating sex and gender debate guests on Benjamin Boyce's podcast and the same goes for Meghan Murphy
Venus Rising covers fertility issues, many of which intersect with gender identity theory e.g. the push for surrogacy
Gender; a wider lens

Well I almost daren't suggest these considering a recent thread here...but

The Nolan Stonewall one is the only investigative style one I know of. There are others that are more interview based.

Gender - A wider Lens
Stella O Malley and Sasha Ayer talk broadly on all kinds of gender issues from a psychotherapists point of view - interviews with de-transitioners, trans people, scientists and other professionals working in the field. I find it fascinating.

Anything where Helen Joyce is interviewed is a must hear (I think she's got an amazing, clear style of explaining positions). This US based one called Keep Talking is one of the best I've heard. Absorbing. However, it's long at 1 hour 37 minutes so set aside some time.

I love The Mess We're In for more a chatty feel. They've had some great guests.

GoodieMoomin · 05/12/2021 12:56

Oh, and look for anyone who has interviewed Helen Joyce. To my mind she is the most important and accessible voice

bellissimiaow · 05/12/2021 12:57

Thank you both, those look really interesting. I'll take a look.

I searched for Kathleen Stock on Google podcasts and found a few good ones

Posie’s interviews on Triggernomentry are really good. She’s quite a divisive character but she’s totally clear and no nonsense.

"Gender a wider lens" is really good. The episode on non-binary is particularly good and even managed to give me a little hope it what seems to be a dark time.

Just stumbled across this

Many different speakers on Triggernometry, including Kathleen Stock, Posie, Debbie Hayton and Blaire White.

From the sports side, the real science of sport podcast has had a couple of interesting episodes recently.

PatsArrow · 06/12/2021 16:10

Yes seconding KJ's Triggernometry podcasts. Very accessible.

DaisiesandButtercups · 06/12/2021 22:54

I second or third

Gender a wider lens
Savage minds
Benjamin Boyce
Venus rising
The same drugs (Megan Murphy)

I don’t think I’ve seen anyone mention Transparency yet? This podcast is by two transmen exploring issues around gender identity in culture. Really interesting perspectives to add to all the above.

Also some of the Unherd podcasts are great and add a another different perspective. Julie Bindel interviewed Kathleen Stock for Unherd, the episode is definitely worth a listen.

Absolutely. She recently updated her list of interviews:

Another somewhat random suggestion - Heterodorx. Corinna Cohn (GC transwoman) and Nina Paley (award-winning now-cancelled animator). Two smart people doing a silly-but-serious trans-related podcast.

Yes, Transparency is great. I've listened to it before but there's a really interesting recent one with a transwoman called Limpida talking about AGP, how ridiculously easy it is to transition, the relationship between dysphoria and autism and OCD, and also how sexual orientation can change with the hormone treatment. Which adds another dimension to the conversion therapy bill, doesn't it, if kids' sexual orientations are literally being converted by taking this stuff.

I binged King Critical when I found his videos to clear my mind of all the gaslighting I'd allowed myself to be subject to
