I resigned from
@OpenUniversity
last night. The University has allowed things to escalate to a point beyond repair. My trust and heart have been broken. As many of you know, I am taking the OU to the Employment Tribunal and will provide further updates on the case in the next

week or so.
But today I am delighted to announce that as of 1st January 2022, I will be moving to
@UniofReading
to become Professor of Criminology
@UniRDG_Law
. I am excited about working with law and criminology specialists, and about the next chapter in my academic career.

In my view, as identity politics starts to unravel the next 18 months or so will show which universities truly uphold the values of freedom of speech, thought, expression and academic freedom (well done Reading!) and which ones are Stonewall’s poodles. I know which institutions I’ll be encouraging DS to apply to in a year’s time.

What a shame the OU couldn’t get their act together. Their tutors are striking due to pay and conditions at the moment, so there’s a lot of unhappiness across the board.

I'm pleased you have a safe haven to receive you - I deplore the necessity for it.

The OUs loss, and glad that you have an exciting new job. Not good that this is the second time an excellent academic got pushed out. But wish you the very best for the future and thank you for standing up for women. Sorry for all it has cost you.

Congrats Jo. Mine start uni in 2 years and I will be adding Reading to the list - sounds like it hasn't been Pied Pipered by gender ideology.

Congratulations on the new role Jo, and thank you for still bringing the case too despite getting the new job. That case will have impact for others. It’s a real act of solidarity.
It puts the University of Reading in a very good light too.

Pleased to hear this and saddened by the decline of the OU, which played such an important part in improving so many women’s lives through accessible higher education.

Interesting because I thought RDG was a Sw top 100 employer. Does this mean they’re leaving?
