Is there any legal redress possible? The centre has effectively shut females out of their own service, after all, which clearly is contrary to their reason for being.

It is rather revealing that one, single, solitary male can cause an entire organisation to crumble. I thought women's organisations were built of stronger stuff than this. Disappointing and will lead to many people withholding funding (self included, I'm buggered if I'm supporting the mental torture of females by males in what was supposed to be a safe female space).

What I don’t understand is how women involved with rape crisis services can do this to women who come to them for help.

I’m well aware how unimportant women are in general, how we are expected to meet all other people’s needs before our own, how in every instance men must be prioritised etc.

But women who choose to work in these women’s crisis services? How can they hold those views? It would take a very special kind of cruelty to do it deliberately.

Yet when anyone attempts to bring this story to the general area of MN, it is swiftly moved to this so called "naughty corner". Why is bringing this issue to the attention of all women such a terrible thing that needs to be hidden quickly?

This story should be shouted from every rooftop. Women like @IamSarah being thrown under the bus, time and time again, to appease trans-identified males. Thank you Sarah, for speaking out. People don’t believe this is happening but they must be confronted with the truth and the real, shocking impact this has on women.

What sort of supervision do these centres have? An enormous amount of money goes into them from tax payers. I think I read that £2 million went to Edinburgh. What records are kept to show how many women use the service compared to trans people? Surely if women don't use the service then it should be closed down. What happens to the 'bigots' who refuse to go through transgender ideology?
Surely someone should be in charge of inspection, someone not a misogynistic trans person. Someone should be accountable for ensuring that female rape victims are properly cared for. I don't suppose there is much hope of anything sensible happening in Scotland but maybe there is still time in England. You have the laws but they are not being applied.

I don't think people quite understand how just one person, endowed with a penis and testicles, can oppress multiple women, just by that person's presence. People just don't get how powerful having a penis and testicles makes a person, relative to those who only have vaginas and ovaries.

I still don't understand why they didn't have to join the 'designated group for transgender people'- is that not the whole point of that group!? Would that not also have been a better fit for the trans person to have received support?

This is a Disgrace. Biological women and trans women should have the same rights- one should not be forced out of receiving the support they need because of the other. There was a designated group for transgender people so why was this even an issue?

I hope a legal challenge happens soon, unless local authorities and EHRC suddenly announce that women have a right to single-sex services starting immediately

I can only imagine that women only groups are not permitted because the women would join them, leaving all the men alone in the inclusive mixed sex group. We can't have that because then there's no one to "validate" the members' "womanliness".

As for the staff...from what I've heard of those in Brighton, they are twaw. They believe they are being #kind to the #MostOppressed and we're just evil bigots. It's a religious movement and they are doing the work of gender Jesus, converting or casting out the ignorant masses as required.

Reading The Righteous Mind by Jonathan Haidt helped me better understand these people on an intellectual level. That said I think they're completely wrong and I struggle to comprehend HOW anyone can hold such a radical and nonsensical position and keep a straight face.

Sarah tweeted this yesterday. She isn't the only woman who have been unable to access support.

I am so angry about this and would happily support a level challenge
