Was coming on to see if there is a thread about this.
Are you going op?

highame · 25/11/2021 09:07

Given the speakers, I am assuming this is an 'anyone who calls themselves a woman' event

FFSFFSFFS · 25/11/2021 09:21

The Brighton Reclaim Night have made it very clear that the penis will be centered, protected and celebrated in its event. Sigh.

KittenKong · 25/11/2021 09:23

That’s Brighton though, would be amazed if it wasn’t about the feelz

Personwithrage · 25/11/2021 09:27

I started a thread on this ish last week

How can Labour have a women only march?

What is a woman Labour?

John McDonnell praised EMOH for not knowing biology or understanding the needs of vulnerable women

Ben Bradshaw tweeted support for the Sussex STUDENTS

Gil House was threatened over saying only women experience d the menopause

Why would Labour be the go to women's safety outfit???

There are reclaim the night marches all over the country tonight, I'm going to my local one, so even if you aren't London based, take a look for a more local one!

RoyalCorgi · 25/11/2021 09:41

Anneliese Dodds is full on TWAW. Waste of space.

KittenKong · 25/11/2021 10:08

I did wonder if the clowns who cuckoowd the Sarah Everard gathering would be involved.

This makes me feel so, so sad. I'm a survivor of rape. I desperately want to be able to join with other women to protest male violence. In my local area there has been a string of sex attacks. Women are scared and fucking sick of having to alter their daily lives around this.

But how can I march in a group of people who think I'm a bigot for needing to see female doctors when I can, for needing female HCPs when I get a smear test?

I was hurt by males who identify as good people, who walk free, with their families none the wiser. I was made to internalise the blame and believe everything that happened was my fault.

My whole life since has been set up around avoiding males in specific circumstances. That's what trauma can do. How can I now march with people who blame me for needing to exclude males from places I feel vulnerable? They are just playing the same song that blamed me for being raped. It is the same victim blaming misogyny.
