How do I write a freedom of information request?

How do I write a FOI to find out which PSHE trainers my dc MAT use?

To find out which PSHE trainers the LEA/council use?

Which EDI trainers they use?

& if the council are members of stonewall diversity champion scheme?

I guess these are separate FOI requests, but could do with more guidance please.

Thank you in advance.

You don't necessarily have to submit an FOI request. Have you tried just asking your local LEA etc?

There's lots of useful information here:
www.whatdotheyknow.com/help/about

You can either make your request through that site or directly to the council etc. If you do it through WhatDoTheyKnow everyone will be able to see your request, including your name, but you only have to give initial or title + surname to comply with the requirements for using your real name.

If you search for your council here you can check whether any of your questions have already been asked (there was a big campaign earlier in the year about public bodies which were members of Stonewall's scheme).

If you see a request on there where someone has asked a similar question (to a different authority) and got a good response, you can simply c&p their question to your council.

Yes, you could do this, and they may or may not choose to respond. The benefit of making a FOI request is that they are required by law to supply the information within 20 working days.

You could consider framing your request more to understand how public resources are used for EDI projects, and how outside services are procured/ selected. FOI cases generally have quite a high bar in terms of transparency of expenditure of public money

-How much do you spend annually on EDI training?
-Is the training provided internally from external providers?
-How much was spent on external providers
-How many different providers were used
--What are the names of the organisations that have been contracted to deliver the training, and how much was spent with each provider
-How were the providers selected (for example, open competition, single tender action)

Sorry

-Is the training provided internally or from external providers?

You can put all your questions on one FOI.

I think FOI's are really useful irrespective of the response. They generate internal questioning within the body it is sent to

Thank you blue I didn’t think of that.
