So basically as long as male athletes aren't very good (as in not good enough to win the gold medal in a major international women's event), they are fine to win anything and everything anywhere else.
We now have to hope that some of them at least turn out to be quite good. We need a few massive events to be won by obvious males, in order for change to happen.
The Semenya comment is in relation to the fact that the Olympic 800m event in Rio had three males on the podium forcing the Athletics Associations to invoke extra rules for middle distance events.
We need three males on an Olympic podium to force a sporting body to act. We need two males in a Wimbledon Women's tennis final, four males on a women's 100 m relay Olympic team, half a dozen males on a team that wins the Women's Football World Cup.
The odd mediocre male (in archery, volleyball, weightlifting, cycling) isn't enough. We need some better ones to open a few eyes.
