NI period poverty bill

So Nolan did a spot on the the SDLP who brought the great bill for free of charge period products. Fab. However the bill was 2000 words odd without mentioning women, girls or females with regard to periods.

Nolan got a wee slagging on a NI progressive politics Facebook page for trans bashing & now I'm in a heated discussion with a man defending the fact that I dislike that it didn't use women/girls/females.

I really hope that there are people who broadly agree with my posts, even though no one 'reacts' to them apart from argue man. I actually think most of the females I know would care in some part about women being removed from language

Have you said given that people have periods then the initials initiative needs to include everyone and do they think that's sensible from a cost/ benefit view considering (I assume) from tax money.

I mean if it includes free stuff in school bogs and so on I just don't know.

Doubling cost presumably because all the toilets mentioned need them available!

Like schoolgirls who can’t afford period products are going to sneak into the male toilets at school if the girls are empty. Just acknowledge this is a womens issue and supply enough for women, in suitable locations.

Excellent point about providing them in male toilets. I don't actually think they'd go to these lengths, but may do to cover themselves & if so, what a waste!

Argue man insisted it was for the benefit of actual woman. When I asked what an actual woman was, he said ALL woman. Spectacularly missing the point.
