Following a link posted on another thread (about violent crime and the trans community) I did some googling. The only info I could really find was in relation to the US (even in UK media outlets) with a rate of approx one a week. Very little info on the whole about charges. Many were also black. Two were siblings killed by their mother, and another was shot by police whilst holding a weapon. The majority of deaths involved a gun.

The only UK name that came up was Naomi Hersi from 2018.

Sadly I think the US rates say as much about their gun crime rates as does about the non/safety of the trans community.

And also sheer numbers. They have a huge population.

I'm not kidding but quite a few people I know shared posts on Facebook about important lesbians in history on Lesbian Visibility Day last year. Every single one of them was born male. I felt that there really must be a concerted effort being made somewhere to make sure that numerous transwomen 'lesbians' go viral on that day.

I have been laughing my socks off. Sadly I don’t think she will actually ever ‘get’ it. She doesn’t seem very... smart.

Does anyone know why this is specifically a 'trans day of remembrance'? In everything else it seems like T has to be glued inseparably to LGB as a 'community' (and there are accusations of transphobia otherwise)... but not for this? I don't know what the stats are but I fear there are still murders due to homophobia Being entirely serious, it's odd that among those various days there isn't a Remembrance Day for gay people who've been killed. This thread has reminded me of the horror of the nail bomber.

T standing alone isn't really the issue, in Ireland they have TENI, that only represents trans people, but the LGB alliance is a 'hate group' because it tries to focus on the unique challenges facing same sex orientated people only. I was at a talk (The Chilling Effect) where this issue came up and one of the speakers said that when you consider that trans people are estimated to be 1% of the worlds population, they aren't doing badly, because they are not 1% of the worlds homicide victims. They look at numbers in south America and Brazil where the highest rates of trans murder are highest, but not into the overall murder rates in those places which are eye watering.

Last year in the US 414 people a week where murdered so if I'm not awful at maths then 0.24% of those were trans.

I read Dawn Butler's response like she was ready to get miffed if trans women weren't being included in Jess's list.
It's so lazy and so sloppy. How can it be that they are unaware of these facts? How has it not been pointed out to them by someone on their team? Are their teams so keen for the "most vulnerable" line to be pushed that they are keeping stum on anything that might undermine it?
I really hope the BBC will start taking MPs to task a bit more now they are freer to do so. But, given that they often let them spout lies and don't challenge them, I won't hold my breath.

I imagine that worldwide it's hard to pinpoint the number of trans people who have been murdered. Apparently there are 500,000 homicides a year globally. The number usually cited for trans people is about 350 a year which is obviously a tiny fraction of that. However, I don't think most countries keep records of trans murder victims - the UK, for example, just categorises murder victims by sex and age.

Maybe Dawn could remember the victims who were killed by trans people in the last 10 years? And then read out where each offender is in prison and whether they are in the female estate or not.

When we say trans people, Dawn reads that as trans women. They're the default trans human to her.

Yes that's what I thought when I saw it on Twitter! Why would you think trans men would be included in the list of murdered women, if you're a gender believer? The only explanation is that trans men don't even impinge on her consciousness at all. I wonder why...

Agree. But the reason is clear: anyone who bothers to inform themselves about the reality of the situation (eg that murder rates are low to non-existent, cross-dressers now come under the trans umbrella, male rapists are being put in women's prisons etc) very quickly becomes gender-critical. All the real enthusiasts for Stonewall and trans ideology have made a decision not to inform themselves.

All done before centuries ago, almost word for word, with religion as means of controlling the populace and making them believe and do what an elite wished them to do. Avoiding teaching commoners to read was part of it; there was the problem that they'd have all kinds of unhelpful ideas if they saw the evidence for themselves, and would start making the elite's life difficult, or turn them out of power.

The transphobia motive would come up though wouldn't it? I can't imagine a transphobic murder not being investigated as a that. The day of remembrance is supposed to be about people who are murdered as a result of being trans. In the UK it falls into hate crime category.

Whilst I agree, the thing is you don't even have to do research to become gender critical. All you need to do is engage your brain and work it through.

All you need to do is wait to get abused as a bigot for claiming to have a same or opposite sex attraction.... at which point you need to decide whether -

(a) you are a bigot
or
(b) you will address your bigotry by becoming bisexual, as everyone is either bisexual or bigoted
or
(c) you will become GC because the whole trans thing is nuts.

There's an online event for Trans day of remembrance by the local pride and trans charities. What a waste of time. I mean, seriously. The local labour candidate is going too - I wonder if she knows the answer to this question!

Also, Dawn Butler is mad to think that TRAs would want transwomen deaths lumped in with biological women on any list. Transwoman convicted = woman. Transwoman victim = not just any old woman like the rest of us, but proof of the most oppressed status of the trans community.
