Nolan: 'one of the major political parties seems reluctant to say women use period products'
SDLP spokeswoman: 'but I don't think it does just affect women. I think it affects families and relationships and couples. So I don't think there's anything wrong with including everyone in this'
This is one of the fundamental problems with 'inclusiveness'. Taken to an extreme, which is where it's been driven to in recent years, it becomes that everything is for everyone.
If someone wants to educate men and boys about periods then knock yourself out but don't erase women and girls in the process and make it impossible to talk about our lives without pandering to others.
My husband buying some tampax in the weekly shop every so often does not put his experience of periods on a par with mine or our daughters.
