The Female Lead - now including males too!

Long time feminism lurker but rarely post....

I see the second edition of The Female Lead is published today. There is at least one TW included. Are they claiming the word female now too? No doubt the TW is inspirational to others with a similar 'journey' but this book is about inspiring girls and young women, can't we celebrate the achievements of a fabulous group of females without males muscling in?

When exactly are women going to peak? What will it take to show we are being smothered again by men. We are going backwards.

I hadn't actually seen those Twitter replies when I wrote the OP. Was just outraged when I glanced at a tweet of the cover that I could instantly see one non female. Vast majority of replies critical of including a male.

Why on earth did the publishers think they had to do it? To be cool and woke? To be inclusive?! The clue is in the title; it's about females, an underrepresented group in leadership roles, and does not need to be inclusive of men!

They are hiding replies instead of engaging with the criticism. The contempt for their core audience is typical - I’m looking at you M&S and John Lewis

What I don't get is the women (actually fucking women) partaking in this. I would refuse to have my name associated with this full stop.

It's funny how transmen never seem to get recognised.

And so a lot of posts on the Female lead twitter are now retweets of other people fawning over the inevitable and truly stunning and brave inclusion of a TW, leaving the other 66 females interviewed as a sort of backdrop, with no comparable attention or praise promoting their inclusion or achievements.

Its like there's a pattern here, where all the energy of an interesting initiative ends up being dissipated into proving woke credentials, proving how inclusive we all are and generally feeding the cuckoo in the nest all the attention, while the actual point of the project becomes secondary, and its message is diluted.
