In an inter-gender MMA fight a female fighter was badly beaten by a male and the match was stopped. Hopefully this will be a wake-up call to some supporters of mixed sex contact sports to the physical dangers to women when playing against men.

The irony seems lost. Unless everyone is muttering ‘aye, who thought mixed sex was a good idea?’

This thread might be interesting for you to read too OP.

Good to see the Independent pick this up.

Seeing that on a bigger screen is really confronting.

Thing is that the same people who say this is dangerous and unfair will somehow undergo magical thinking and decide it is fine if both 'identify' as women regardless of biology

DefineHappy · 03/11/2021 04:58

Yes - how many people would argue both:
a) it is unfair for a man and woman to fight each other
And
b) it is fair for a TW to fight a woman (as they are both “women”)….

Helleofabore · 03/11/2021 08:03

I have seen too many of those arguments definehapoy.
