The answer of 80% agreeing with gender ideology to be kind to the latest minority group, and 20% fear of rocking the boat makes sense with my large organisation too.
We all bought into the 'rainbow' signage a few years ago and felt sorry for what we thought were physically transitioning people who wanted to be called Wendy instead of Steve (for example). We were all happy to look at Steve and ignore his height, body shape, voice, face shape, stride and similar maleness, and feel for him wanting to be Wendy. Then the reality of selfID started to be reported, highlighting the injustice to women in letting fully intact men into safe spaces.
My organisation still references gender not sex, but colleagues talk about sex being different to gender in small safe groups. However, no one can speak up to push back against gender ideology as we have families and finances (mortgages) to protect.
