In the strange part of the world that is Texas, in another school district we have 7 year old children being suspended and isolated from their peers because their hair is too long.

It's all so topsy turvy, but the message is if you put a skirt on then we will celebrate you but if you simply grow your hair a bit longer we will expel you.

Presumably the school has no issues with bullying or poor teaching etc that there's so much time to deal with clean tidy tied back hair?

Its almost as if in order to have thr whole thing work.you have ti ban others from being their sex and non confirming so it keeps the stereotype open fir the trans kids ?

I wonder whether this is one of those examples of the US right wing being supporters of the gender identity ideology.

Allison Bailey said a couple of days ago, in her speech, that gender nonconformity should be celebrated. She's right.

If there weren't so much drama and pettiness about about pointless nonsense things would be much less confusion.

If you're going to have a policy on hair length (?!) it needs to apply to both sexes.

Identical grooming and clothing rules for both sexes are essential for schools to avoid pressuring gender non-conforming students into making premature decisions on gender identity.

This can be in the form of a single set of clothing requirements for all children, regardless of sex; or it can be two or more acceptable clothing styles, e.g. Style A) uniform skirt + no tie OR Style B) uniform trousers + tie, with all students able to choose which style they want to wear.

Cases like this one are the reason that the debate in the US about sex & gender is stuck in the stone age.
