Jo Cox Women in Leadership programme

I have just been sent details of the Jo Cox Women in Leadership programme. Although they don’t define women, their EDI Monitoring form makes it clear that they do accept biological males. Their questions are:
What best describes your gender identity? Female, Non-Binary, Prefer not to say, Prefer to self-describe as… [note there is no option to say you don’t believe in/have a gender identity]
Is your gender identity the same as the sex you were assigned at birth?
Do you identify as trans?
Do you identify as intersex? [ This especially pisses me off, as having a VSD is not an identity].

They have been stonewalled, right?

They’ve been accepting TW since about 2018. Heather peto was one of the first benefactors

Madigan applied for the Jo Cox leadership programme no idea if they got on it. But yes it's open to males.

crankysaurus · 22/10/2021 17:15

I think all women in... awards are open to trans women also now, I've just seen that a trans colleague has been nominated for one.

They didn't get a place, no.
PronounssheRa · 22/10/2021 17:18

They didn't get a place, no

That's some small comfort

Theeyeballsinthesky · 22/10/2021 17:24

Yep Cranky. Pretty much any programme designed to address how women are disadvantaged by their sex and improve their representation and equality, are now open to TW

And therefore they are all completely pointless.

I honestly don't know how I feel about it, or can't articulate it well. They're in a different office so I'm not sure if they do actually do more to counter sexism and to support/promote women generally in the workplace than I see (in a very male dominated industry) but I've only really known them to speak about trans inclusion issues.

What best describes your gender identity? Prefer to self-describe as…
a non-believer
Is your gender identity the same as the sex you were assigned at birth?
No
Do you identify as trans?
No
Do you identify as intersex?
No more than I identify as having only one leg

You'll probably be marked as a bigot and not get selected though.

Rosie Duffield signed in support of men being allowed to self-identify onto the scheme.

Me too, GC.

What I find quite funny is that no one seems to have noticed that I stopped the Party membership standing order quite a while ago, so that the Women in Leadership programme seems to be open to both non-Women and non Party members..

I suppose if you can't even work out who's got the cervices then keeping on top of a membership list is a bit too complicated, eh?
