I have seen Stonewall mentioned a lot in your threads.

My work place has announced it is 'Equality' week and we all have to sign things and attend 'LGBTQ+ inclusion' training for two hours and state our pronouns on emails etc.

Why is Equality week focusing on this. What about racism in the workplace, disability awareness, inclusion more generally. It's all geared towards trans issue and there isn't anyone transgender here.

Basically, Stonewall has been busted. We've been talking about it for years but now the BBC has exposed it. Any organisation/ company that cares about its reputation needs to step swiftly away from it.

I agree with PP, they are a bit late to the party, many organisations are leaving Stonewall's champions scheme due to the controversial nature of this lobby group. It's a odd time to join. Who boards a sinking ship?

I've sometimes thought it's rather like an employer deciding to send you all off for compulsory training with some woo healing crystals for 'disability awareness', and requiring attendees to declare their levels of illness or disability - intrusive, offensive, non-evidenced, and probably discriminatory and unlawful.

You know what really affects me every single day at work? My height.

I cannot reach the highest shelves in the cupboard because I am short, not because I am a Christian lady.

I cannot get on the high classroom chairs, set for the six foot tall arts teacher, because I am short, not because I am white or British. It gives me a bad back to sit on most of the office chairs because my legs are too short to touch the floor, not because I am straight, married or work part time.

I get teased - called 'miss midget' by the students and I sometimes feel unsafe in the crowded areas because I am five foot nothing, not because I hold a belief that sex matters more than gender.

What policies are my work introducing to make me feel included and safe?!
