A gallery near to me posted something on social media using the word 'chestfeeding'. I pulled them up on it, stood my ground and they've now edited the post to include both terms, but breastfeeding is more prominent. 💪🏻

These things are important.

I crossed out gender and replaced it with sex yesterday on two official forms.

The last form I filled out was online and was to do with diet. It asked what gender I was but also gave the options on non-binary and ‘other’. Not sure how much that helps with dietary requirements and weight loss…

Thank you. That word irks me more than all the others.

English isn’t their first language but the post was in English as well as the native language. It was virtue signaling pure and simple. I didn’t point out that they’d also used the term ‘mother’ which is also deemed transphobic - didn’t want to give them any ideas 🙄

My small contribution is that I get paid to do online surveys and in the demographic section I have had so many muddled questions regarding gender and sex or whether I am a woman or female…

One of the questions was what gender do you identify with and the options were male or female.

I had to point out that male and female were nothing to do with gender and were biological sex categories. These things do matter. Language matters.

I also had to explain in a survey from America that in the UK gender and sex are different things even though they are conflated in America and which term they use matters when asking UK citizens.

Every single survey I have completed I have added comments regarding this in the box at the end so I hope the message will get out to people.
