Is it illegal to put stickers and ribbons on things? I'm considering starting my own little campaign but I would lose my job if I got a criminal record. I mean, I'm sure if I did it in toilets/changing rooms there would be no way of knowing who did it but it makes me nervous.

Stickers are probably criminal damage. And might be hate speech, depending on the message.

Very much so!! in fact double !!

Won't be criminal damage. There is a lamp-post near me that has got stickers for various causes on it going back to the Brexit referendum. It's still a fully functioning lamp-post.
