Spoke to deputy head about my daughter's gender issues, she seemed very sensible, very aware of the fact that there is huge trans trend at the moment. I was reassured school are not jumping on the trans wagon.

Then I looked at the PSHE slides for year 11 which have videos from a trans girl who transitioned. In fairness they did also mention detransition. The talk about "assigned" sex too. And on the support websites page listed mermaids and stonewall.

Obviously they are under great pressure to support (and be seen to support) LGBT students but I'm still not happy about the messaging.

It’s quite possible the DH is unaware of what’s being taught in PSHE.

Please let her know.

I've seen this happen before. HT promises faithfully not to have gender woo in school, stresses how the kids are safe etc but has full knowledge of kids wearing binders and doesn't inform parents. Sad but true, they can't be trusted. You have to make sure your own kids are ok.

I would suggest you tackle it head on, escalate it if you don't get a satisfactory response - the government guidance on stereotypes should help.

Try transgender trend and safe schools alliance for guidance.

Thanks for the heads up bonbon. I shall email the head of year 11 to ask to see the material at our school.

Maybe involve the governors too? If the HT is telling parents one thing, while gender woo is still going on in the classroom, governors need to know about that.
