First tweet - women are subjected to both being rape & having their freedom curtailed because of it

Follow up tweet - fear of rape days trans women are predators who must be chased out of public spaces

Ffs!! TW are by definition male & therefore may or may not be a predator. The thing is, as with all men, we don’t know which ones are and which ones aren’t hence safeguarding!!!

fear of rape days trans women are predators who must be chased out of public spaces

Can she define ‘trans woman’?

TimeToDateAgain · 04/10/2021 16:42

fear of rape days trans women are predators who must be chased out of public spaces

Or

The well-founded apprehension of male violence and those who would exploit loopholes for their own purposes means that that who reject sex-based conventions that are part of the social contract need to access suitable facilities in public spaces. Said facilities are, for example, for relief of the bladder etc. or the need to change clothing: they are not validation or support facilities.

ArabellaScott · 04/10/2021 16:58

there is also violence done in the name of rape prevention; forces which rely on our fear of rape to make us react in coercive ways.

What kind of 'violence'? What does a 'coercive way' even mean? She doesn't mean actual violence and coercion, does she? She means 'holding beliefs/opinions contrary to mine'. And equating that with women being raped.

This is the most disgusting, minimising shit I've read in ... ooh, days.

I can't say what I think of you, Ash Sarkar, but you should be ashamed of yourself.

fear of rape days trans women are predators who must be chased out of public spaces

She is thick as fucking mince. No one has said that trans women must be chased out of public spaces. What they have said is that trans women have no place in women's private spaces - changing rooms, domestic violence refuges etc.

Coming on top of the stinking hypocrisy of Billy Bragg and Owen Jones, I fear this display of dimness is about to send me over the edge.

donquixotedelamancha · 04/10/2021 17:20

Ash sarkar almost getting it

She wasn't almost getting it. She used the first bit to introduce her batshit argument that making too much fuss about rape is bad.

Anti-carceral 'feminism' is very fashionable among male-centered feminists like Ash.

She doesn't get it at all
And what's the 'violence done in the name of rape prevention'? Does she mean 'literal violence'???

merrymouse · 04/10/2021 18:34

Does she mean 'literal violence'???

If she cared I’m sure she would explain.

LizzieSiddal · 04/10/2021 19:45

They love talking about “violence” don’t they, when if asked they can’t give one single example of a GC feminist being in any way violent.

They are lying little toads.

rurbane · 04/10/2021 19:59

Does anyone understand this sentence in Ash's tweet?

"It allows men to act out violent fantasies against other men in the name of protecting women."

donquixotedelamancha · 04/10/2021 20:01

Does anyone understand this sentence in Ash's tweet?

She thinks the biggest problem about rape is that sometimes people beat up the poor rapists.

merrymouse · 04/10/2021 20:05

"It allows men to act out violent fantasies against other men in the name of protecting women."

I think she means men giving themselves permission to fight other men because they are ‘protecting our women’.

However, effectively this just blamed women for men’s actions, “ooh, don’t say something and get them angry!”.

merrymouse · 04/10/2021 20:08

So in Rotherham women became responsible for the behaviour of the men who abused them (they weren’t ‘nice’ girls) and the men who used the incident as an excuse for racist violence.

The only thing women can’t be responsible for is their own opinions. (See Billy Bragg’s latest).

rurbane · 04/10/2021 20:42

Thanks donquixotedelamancha and merrymouse

ArabellaScott · 04/10/2021 20:46

Thanks for the explanations. She is working hard to make male violence women's fault, somehow. Did I mention how it is disgusting?

It's disgusting.

donquixotedelamancha · 04/10/2021 21:00

I fear this display of dimness is about to send me over the edge.

I would not waste the tiniest iota of ire on someone who thought about their skill set, considered their career options and said: "I could be second only to Owen Jones".

NiceGerbil · 05/10/2021 05:18

This is very widespread.

Loads of mainstream news orgs. Massive global orgs like WHO.

one minute they say women and mean sex. Afghanistan, rape as s weapon of war, vawg etc.

Next second ovulators this and vagina people that and inclusion and TWAW.

They are all either really dim or hypocritical disingenuous bastards.

Maybe a mix for individuals.
Media and charities etc know exactly what they're doing.
They know that eg people with vaginas in Afghanistan fear for future would be met with total shock and outrage by the general public.
While for other topics of less interest to public. Women's issues section. Nowhere near front page. Or even middle. Bodies with vaginas will not get noticed by anyone generally except those who care about that sort of thing IE those with vaginas.

NiceGerbil · 05/10/2021 05:24

I had a look.

I agree with her points about fear etc.

The shoehorning in of TW in the middle is jarring, irrelevant and crass.

IMO.

NiceGerbil · 05/10/2021 05:30

Oh btw.

The current argument is.

Cis men are the danger. Leave TW alone.

Ignoring the fact that women/ girls are to assume anyone male in our single sex stuff just be trans and don't react that's rude.

But if they attack anyone etc then we can report afterwards.

And then they were a cis man all along.

As by definition. No trans woman would ever do that.

So there you are.

(You can't see and should never assume gender. Presentation has nothing to do with gender ID. any bloke in with the girls and women is trans by definition. Unless they do something bad. And then they were cis all along. So why didn't anyone tell him to get out or raise the alarm etc? Cunty people are so useless aren't they).
