We can no longer be silent about what appears to us as a serious drift committed in the name of the emancipation of the "transgender child" (the one who declares that he was not born in the "good body"). On the argument of only feelings erected in truth, radical speeches legitimize requests for sex change. But this is at the cost of lifelong medical treatment or even surgical treatment (removal of the breasts or testicles) on the bodies of children or adolescents. It is this phenomenon and its strong media coverage that challenges us and not the choices of transgender adults.

Perhaps thinking about providing an answer, the Scottish government has issued new LGBT inclusion guidelines on 12 August , which will allow children as young as entering primary school to be able to change their names from use and sex in school without parental consent. Without their consent and even without their being informed if the child so requests. Children are made to believe that a girl could become a boy and vice versa because they would have decided without even the advice of adults, and this, increasingly young.

What is happening with our neighbors could very quickly happen in France: the protean diffusion of these beliefs has resulted in recent years by a considerable inflation of requests for sex reassignment among children and more particularly among adolescent girls. According to Jean Chambry , child psychiatrist in charge of CIAPA (Center Intersectoriel d'Accueil pour Adolescent in Paris), nearly ten years ago, we had about ten requests per year, in 2020, it is ten requests per month (only for the Ile-de-France region). He speaks of a worrying acceleration of medical responses to these transition requests.

Standardized speeches claim that we could do without the biological reality, the sexual difference between men and women in favor of selected singularities based solely on "feelings". These ideologically-based false speeches are transmitted on social networks where many adolescents in need of identity come to seek solutions to their discomfort. In the name of "self-determination" - a real slogan that appeals to all progressives - I am free to choose the body I want - children and adolescents are convinced that they can change their sex with the help of hormonal treatments or even mutilating surgeries. This rhetoric, spread by militants in many Western countries, makes use of fallacies intended to deceive.

How did we get there? And do we (still) have the right to react without being insulted or threatened? How would these rights to self-determination be a fulfilling progress? This phenomenon, "the transgender child", is in reality a contemporary mystification that must be vigorously denounced because it comes under ideological enrollment. We would like to make us believe that in the name of the well-being and the freedom of each one, a child, relieved of the agreement of his "reactionaries" of parents, would be able to "choose" his so-called gender identity.

But the child is a being in construction, his future is constantly evolving before reaching a stage of maturity. There is unanimity on the subject among neuroscientists, developmentalists, psychoanalysts, child psychiatrists, pediatricians and all specialists in early childhood.

The child, and even more the adolescent, is subjected to a hold whose consequences lead to mental destabilization, a rupture with the family if it does not support its child and with all those who refuse to share its point of view. This grip generates an anti-social and accusatory discourse, a specific idiom or even a newspeak is imposed on the entourage. The speeches of these young people are often stereotyped as if they had lost all critical thinking (which is a characteristic of hold).

We denounce this kidnapping of childhood. Today it is urgent to inform the greatest number of citizens, of all professions, of all stripes, of all ages, on what could well appear tomorrow as one of the biggest health and ethics scandals, which we would have watched happen without saying a word: the commodification of children's bodies. Because by persuading these children that a sex has been "assigned" to them at birth, and that they can freely change it, we make them patients for life: consumers for life of hormonal chemicals marketed by pharmaceutical companies, consumers recurring more and more surgeries in pursuit of the chimerical dream of a fantasized body. Currently, countries that had advanced in favor of medical transition before the

This dogmatism causes the greatest confusion so that no one knows how to act and often raise their voice for fear of certain LGBTQI + associations. But this acronym covers very different people, some of whom are worried like us about the current abuses. Some are subject to the law of silence that reigns in this environment. As evidenced by the Swedish documentary Trans train where young adults, abandoned to their loneliness, and threatened in the event of public speaking, claim to have been pressured by their trans community when they have expressed doubts or "de-transitioned"

Confusion reigns, largely maintained for purposes of manipulations affecting humanity in its deepest substratum: its evolution, its temporality, its wanderings and its doubts. In the name of the rejection of an alleged assignment of sex, we are witnessing, embarrassed, without understanding anything, to an assignment of identity. Thus Claude of the Club of the five, qualified in the past as a tomboy, is presented today as transgender . One could laugh about it if it were not symptomatic of our time struck by political radicalities which preempt all debate.

No, definitely, in the name of the protection of children we can no longer be silent! We refuse that in the name of "human rights", we challenge this common base - the universalism of rights - which constitutes the foundation of humanity.

The right body, not the good body. French used "bon" for both good and correct!

Jaysmith71 · 21/09/2021 15:47

Blame Google for the faux-amis and the yank spelling.

I'm too lazy to proof-read it.

catelina · 21/09/2021 15:48

Also "Claude in the Club of five" is George in the Famous Five, for clarity!

Yep.

Jaysmith71 · 21/09/2021 16:35

So refreshing to see people in the land of cafe-intellectuals speaking such plain common-sense.

IvyTwines2 · 21/09/2021 16:35

A powerful letter, particularly the paragraph about the "commodification" of these children. It's a crucial point, though it can get you deleted on here!

ArabellaScott · 21/09/2021 16:38

MissLucyEyelesbarrow · 21/09/2021 16:38

Good to see this. Now, if they could just go back in time and push Derrida and Foucault under a bus....

IvyTwines2 · 21/09/2021 16:40

Given the 'Auld Alliance', I wonder if this criticism by the French of Scotland's policies around children will make the SNP pause and have a rethink?

Chrome offers a (clunky) translation.

Clunky or not, they are not mincing their words.

Haptotherapy sounds quite French!

Wow stunningly accurate.

Newchallenge · 21/09/2021 20:57

Wow. Strong language. I am pleased to see it.

daringdoris · 21/09/2021 21:24

This is excellent! Have just read it all out loud in French to my (longsuffering and French) partner!

So good to read such clear common sense.

Hoping4second · 21/09/2021 21:25

Hapnotherapeute is basically touch therapist (as in cuddle your baby and you'll feel better). So yeah, loads of pseudo-scientific bollocks. But that particular person, Catherine dolto, wrote several bestselling books on babies, young children, education etc. Most people will have one of her books somewhere in their house, the household name trumps the silly job title. Imho.

MattDamon · 21/09/2021 21:27

Got chills reading it. Brilliant stuff.

Manderleyagain · 21/09/2021 23:13

Thanks for posting in the job titles.
There are people with v relevant backgrounds. It's interesting that there are ppl who have been involved in courts that deal with children. I think that's quite an impressive and significant list. I wonder what influence it'll have, and what the backlash will look like.

LizzieSiddal · 21/09/2021 23:39

That is a fantastic letter.
