Dark clouds have appeared over the nation’s most vociferous trans advocates TENI Ireland, with a decision by the HSE to terminate public funding over flawed accounting.

In emails seen by The Burkean, TENI, a regular feature on the NGO circuit, and instrumental in the passing of the notoriously permissive Gender Recognition Act, has lost the receipt of funding from the Health Executive since June over improperly filed accounts.

Good. If they can't report the use of their funding in a proper manner, they shouldn't get more.

Oh I remember them. While everyone accuses GCs and RadFems of being big meanies because we talk about crossdressers and transvestites, TENI is honest enough to admit they come under the trans umbrella.

This does not surprise me in the least, infact I'd say I was almost waiting for it.
That some of these charties are having 'accounting irregularities' come to light is par for the course really, given some of what they are up to.

It's very interesting. Their annual return is due on 25th November. They've been late for the last two years, and 2019 was only filed in July after funding suspended. Can't imagine given previous track records they'll make the deadline

Interesting. I wonder if we’ll get the same reaction from transallies that followed the catastrophic privacy breach at Mermaids, which seemed essentially to be that caring about good practice and high standards in trans charities was some kind of narrow minded bigotry.

Such an interesting list of donors for an organisation that was instrumental in bringing in self ID laws that (apparently) were organically campaigned for at the grass roots, are completely accepted by the whole population and never cause women any issues at all, hmmm?

I’m sure that this getting highlighted here will be spun as having some prurient interest in trans charities failing, and to an extent, that’s true. The machinations of trans charities really are not of much interest to me. What I do care about, however, is where public money goes, where the drive for self ID comes from, and the stonking hypocrisy of those who will be defending TENI while excoriating, for example, Fair Play for Women or LGB Alliance as being shadily funded and run by bad actors.

I have thought this before, Abhannmor. How many trans people are there in Ireland? I could be wrong but I don't think TENI knows or if they do they don't mention it. It's very convenient when you are raking in public and philanthropic funds to posit that there is a completely silent, hidden, closeted, undiagnosed target group out there of potential "trans kids" rather than a definable documented number that may need specific help.

This means you need tons of funding to put packs and training and policies into EVERY school and workplace in the land! Nice little earner. But are there any outcomes on who all this "work" is helping?
