Middle aged man sexually verbally harassed 15 year old girl at the market today.

… and I’m very pleased to say he’s lost his job.

Walking through our local market today with DC and one of their friends.
Arsehole on a stall shouted about 15 year old child’s legs ‘being sexy’. I stopped and told him he was sexually harassing a child. Told the idiot that it was unacceptable, misogynistic horrendous behaviour (plus some other things).

Apparently this man is know for his ‘comments’.
I emailed the site manager who phoned me 20 minutes later full of apologies. Also reiterated that such comments would not be accepted whatever the age of the woman. He said that this man is suspended immediately and will no longer be there and he’d support any police actions.

After years of being fobbed off or told I’m‘overreacting’ it feels great that certain things are being taken more seriously.

Men like this rely on women not questioning their behaviour, so it's really good that you stood up to him. I hope he now thinks twice before mouthing off inappropriately.

That's great that it was actually taken seriously.

Well done for challenging him. But I'm a cynic. Go back and check he's not been reinstated next week some time. Some male managers will say exactly what they know you want to hear just to shut you up with no intention of making any necessary changes.

My youngest daughter would get hideously inappropriate comments from being about 11/12 years old. Some of them from men that I knew, who were in their 50s and 60s.

We’ll done OP. And I don’t know if you intended to post this in sex & gender but if so I feel it’s a totally appropriate section. A child was verbally harassed because of their sex. As females often are, no matter their age.
