I signed up to HyperJar so my kids could get cash cards that I could manage. They asked for my gender and gave the option as either male or female. I wrote them an email asking if they meant sex and not gender (because of the identity checks needed to open the account). Less than two hours later they’ve replied saying it’ll be changed to sex. Whoop!

Great, a bit of reality and common sense. Let’s hope it catches on!

That's because they said it will be changed, not it has been changed. They're going to need to make the change on the test system, make sure it doesn't break anything, and then schedule a time to set it live. Admittedly that shouldn't require a massive lead time as it seems like it's a pretty small change, but we don't know what would need to be done at the back end, and if they have a fixed slot for setting non-urgent changes live.
