**The Justice Minister says it's not okay for parents to tell their 12 year old they can't go on hormone blockers.

I really hate the way they link gender identity with sexual orientation. They are not the same.

Anotheruser02 · 30/07/2021 09:42

Shocking. You aren't allowed to protect your own children. Super woke.

Whatwouldscullydo · 30/07/2021 09:45
Shock

The families there must be terrified

TalkingOutYerArse · 30/07/2021 10:17

This is just truly unbelievable.

JellySlice · 30/07/2021 18:50

Gender identity can be fluid, yet you can't change gender identity?

Chickenyhead · 30/07/2021 20:12

State sanctioned child abuse.

Wow.

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 30/07/2021 20:19

Jesus.

Those kids are absolutely fucked.

At the end of the article:
------
Faafoi said the definition of conversion practice would ensure health practitioners providing health services would not be captured [I assume he means "included"?], nor will people providing legitimate counselling, support and advice.

"General expressions of religious beliefs or principles about sexuality and gender will also not be captured," Faafoi said.
----
It sounds to me like he's saying the only parents who can't object to puberty blockers are gender critical ones. Anybody who can find a religious or mental health or medical or really anything reason, can go right ahead.

??

What a gumball.

Some strange things go on in NZ. We lived there for a while. On one hand it’s incredibly woke, thinks itself as terribly enlightened, way ahead on Green credentials etc…

On the other hand however, it has deeply entrenched gender stereotypes ( one of the reasons we left as I didn’t want ds raised in that culture). There is also a lot of domestic and family violence for a relatively small population.
There is no doubt NZ will be patting itself on the back for pushing the transgender thing, meanwhile the macho culture will continue. Really odd.

BettyFilous · 31/07/2021 09:21

Really odd.

Not really.
