You probably know of this trans person, has been in the media a LOT due to plastic surgery etc.
Has recently transitioned. Was in the press a few days ago saying they could not wait to lose their 'virginity' with a man, and now is hoping for a 'womb transplant'.
Do you think this will ever be possible? My thinking is (hopefully) not. Too many hurdles to overcome (synthetic hormones, anti rejection drugs, pelvis wrong shape, no way to give birth naturally, how to replicate changing hormones during a pregnancy etc ).
Is that all it takes now to be a woman? A plastic surgeon and shoving in a donated uterus? Makes me feel deeply uneasy, I pray no ethics committee will ever allow this to happen.
Its all a bit Frankensteinian.
Thoughts?

They do want to have periods because they will feel more feminine:

In addition, most respondents agreed or strongly agreed that the ability to gestate and give birth to children (171 [94%]) and menstruate (161 [88%]) would enhance perceptions of their femininity.

If they think that bleeding & cramping for a week every month is 'feminine' they're welcome to it.

They really don’t want to have periods with all the bloating, pms, cramps and pain.
They just want to bleed once per month.

And i am sure they don’t want to go through menopause.

What they want is several days a month when they can have dozens of the #bekind handmaidens telling them they're marvellous for coping with periods and advising them to eat lots of chocolate and go to bed with a hot water bottle. They don't want the reality of menstruation, which for many of us is extremely painful, humiliating, wearing and messy, with very little sympathy from anyone else.

Keepemguessing · 29/07/2021 12:30

It's utterly revolting that they hate actual women so much.

The 'period envy' is fetishism. No other word for it.

I'm a member of a women's support group on Facebook, having long suffered with endometriosis (bet the fetishists don't fancy a bout of that, because it bloody hurts). This is what I saw unfold:

Trans woman joins. Plies group for advice all about their 'periods' (which they don't have). Asks three times as many questions as everyone else: other women all answer it in good faith. Then starts to get all invasive, asking the women in that group about the smell of their neo-vag, asking them if they got aroused by their own smell.

It was repulsive. It was a women's group and I've never yet - having been a member of numerous women's support groups including gynae health, infertility, breastfeeding etc - heard of any woman asking questions as these. Walks like a duck, quacks like a duck with ringing bells and flashing red lights on it ... BUT ...

Of course some of the fools humoured it. GC feminist then turns up, not unreasonably wanting to know why on earth people were humouring this fetishist freakery.

Umpteen warnings go out from mods saying transphobic bigotry will not be tolerated here. GC critical questioner banned from group.

I'm sure this is a sport to them.

Where is all this money coming from?

From family.

Imagine being that obscenely wealthy and not actually doing anything worthwhile with it.
