I hope that police forces will finally start taking gateway crimes seriously.

For those without a subscription, in short Libby Squire's mother believes that her daughter's murderer may have flashed at her as part of 18 months of sexual offences the man committed.

Peeping Tom's and flashers are rapists in the making. They need to be taken very, very seriously.

TheHandmadeTails · 26/07/2021 22:23

’One victim, who spoke to The Telegraph on the day of Relowicz’s conviction, said detectives “needed a bit of a push” to act on her report of voyeurism.

“It was considered a relatively minor offence in isolation, but as we’ve seen his crimes have escalated to the point where they’ve had the most tragic of consequences,” she said.’

Well said.

There are so many examples of this. What is the consequence for indecent exposure, do they go on sex offenders list?

DdraigGoch · 27/07/2021 00:10

Punishment can be anything from a police caution to two years imprisonment, a repeat offender would usually get 12 weeks imprisonment. Sex offenders register only signed if sentence exceeds 12 weeks community service, or is a custodial sentence of any length, or the victim was under 18.

It's been well known for yonks that flashers etc escalate.

None of this is new info.

The police/ society don't see this stuff as at all serious though.

Exactly. I would say it's shocking, but Ive seen too much of the police not taking women's safety seriously.
