Really good article Kate. This bit 'the very reasons why single-sex spaces for women exist, are seen as secondary to male desire for self-actualisation' is so depressingly true.

Their need for validation matters more than our safety and privacy .

That's a great article, I have been discussing this with a couple of friends this week so I will be sharing that. I usually find it hard to discuss these things because of looking bigoted and most people are very 'that wouldn't happen'. This week the conversations have come up wrt media not reporting certain things and I've found it easyer to slip in 'yes I have been reading about womens prisons........ these things aren't brought to peoples attention either', one friend in particular was quite sickened she said when you violate another person you should loose your right to decide how anyone else see's you or treats you. I was quite surprised I think I underestimated her, mostly my friends are interested in things that effect them and these trans issues aren't yet.

Thank you very much for all you are doing, and happy to contribute. That's a great article, but I was absolutely shocked to read the linked article from the Howard League about putting girls in with boys in the unit in Wetherby prison. That's so awful, and I hope it never happens. As the author said, 'I can't believe I am having to write this'.
