"The role requires an experienced and effective feminist leader, with the ability to lead across both the strategic and operational work of ERCC.

We are committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace and especially welcome applications from women of colour, trans women and disabled women.

Only women need apply for the above posts under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010."

Sigh Hmm

They are doing it in an attempt to redefine the EA. They need a man to apply and sue them for sex discrimination. I say this as someone who used to work in Rape Crisis.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 19/07/2021 08:17

Does this mean Wadhwa is no longer there?

How...contradictory.

Helleofabore · 19/07/2021 08:28

Surely this could be challenged as a misinterpretation of the clause?

It most certainly is a signal of their intent and their disregard for any woman who feels they cannot use a facility with a male staff member.

Truthlikeness · 19/07/2021 08:31

Neat sandwiching of men there in between women of colour and disabled women. Nothing to see here...

Toffeebutterpopcorn · 19/07/2021 08:41

Well, we know what the first task for an actual feminist leader would be?

Megasausagehead · 19/07/2021 08:42

I don't understand. How are transwomen included with women under the EA. it is currently drafted on sex. No?

Yep! That is what they are doing. Like Stonewall they are "ahead of the law" it seems!

It's a different job to Wadhwa's Chief Operating Officer not Exec.

Helleofabore · 19/07/2021 09:20

Because obviously when you have a male Executive officer who absolutely has shown they don’t actually care about women but seems to enjoy roles around supposedly caring for women (as per their interview back from when they were in the Indian call centre making decisions about providing support for women in the US. And their resigning from the SNP due to the ‘six words’ etc’). There is something I could say about being performative about caring here, and much more, but I won’t.

They obviously can’t have the law meaning something they don’t want it to mean.

But the law means what it has always meant.

Suspicious that they are seeking legal challenge to gain amendment through precedent ruling? Would that apply solely in Scotland?

Those two lines are incongruent Confused.

And what the hell is with putting TW in a list with women of colour and disabled women. Men are not a subset of women!

viques · 19/07/2021 09:37

men are not a subset of women

Though it appears that women are rapidly becoming a subset of men!

Wadhwa is CEO I believe. This vacancy is for a COO. Suppose eventually all the senior staff could have been born male and the org would still consider itself women led. Confused
endofthelinefinally · 19/07/2021 13:25

They will appoint a TW.
Because they don't care about women. It is all about the power and control.
