Signed, thanks!

Eyesofdisarray · 16/07/2021 19:04

Signed

ScreamingMeMe · 16/07/2021 19:39

Signed. That's a really good petition.

JellySlice · 17/07/2021 05:40

I am genuinely not sure about this one. It may create too much bureaucracy - TRA ideologues ruining things for everyone else as usual. What would this mean for people like parent volunteers coming in to teach their specialism? AFAIK this only happens in primary, but it would be such a shame if Raheem's mum couldn't come in to talk about being a Muslim any more, or Judy's mum couldn't come to talk about being an engineer, because they hadn't been vetted.

And how could you be certain that the accreditation body hasn't been captured? Who trains OFSTED?

And yet, how do you prevent ideology being taught as fact?

1Endeavour2 · 17/07/2021 06:32

Signed and shared. 10 yr old GD is being captured at school already.

DOES ANYONE KNOW IF OFSTED HAS SIGNED UP TO STONEWALL?

oldwomanwhoruns · 17/07/2021 07:38

@1Endeavour2 ofstead are indeed on the list of Stonewall Diversity Champions, as published on Glinner's site.

This is the list that was grabbed from the Stonewall site, before they hid it

Sorry for the bad news

oldwomanwhoruns · 17/07/2021 07:40

I guess this answers the question (above) of Who Trains Ofsted...

Tibtom · 17/07/2021 08:17

I thought ofsted left SW recently?

1Endeavour2 · 17/07/2021 08:54

Thank you, makes a bit of a nonsense about signing the petition then? However worthy.
It feels increasingly like living in the old East Germany. Somewhat differently, where I live (upmarket location) we have had a criminal living next to our apartment. He has threatened and intimidated us, superglued us in and out of our apartment and poured paint stripper over the car. £10,000 damage so far, 12 criminal reports and counting. He attacked us the other day ( in our 70's and disabled). Police haven't even phoned us about this after 48 hours. Just wondering if it could be the small violet, green and white bow tied outside which upset them? The linking point is that stonewall is so deeply embedded in so many institutions that it's going to be very hard to prise them out.and of course police are busy fighting hate crime. Our crime? Reporting a flourishing brothel and ongoing, illegal sub letting business -mainly hen and stag parties) and interfering with their non stop filming of my grand daughters on their door camera.

BTW, the sub letting companies don't advertise that their beds have been used for non stop prostitution. Think about it as you tuck your children up in such a rental.

Abhannmor · 17/07/2021 09:13

That sounds grim 😕. I hope the police eventually sort it out.

1Endeavour2 · 17/07/2021 09:31

Thank you.

The superglued ribbon stays up..damaged and torn. You,'d be surprised how ordinary the men buying sex are. 15 mins for £100 ish
Can't yet believe ring door bell cameras are legal. Comments on the letting feedback indicate a high degree of camera supervision inside. There was a group of girls there last night, agedoo about 17-18. He could have filmed them. Just another thing to teach your daughters about but really important.
We have to take a stand for our kids. The amazing thing is that the police are totally uncoordinated and don't give a toss about victims. Just say it's a very famous southern UK university town, top of the league tables.

Imnobody4 · 17/07/2021 09:34

Yes Ofsted have recently left Stonewall.
This shouldn't interfer with individuals like parents, it's aimed at formal 'educational' organisations and charities advertising and offering services or resources.

thinkingaboutLangCleg · 17/07/2021 09:42

1Endeavour2, that’s disgraceful. Obviously the police have more important concerns, such as harassing feminists and free-speech advocates. But ignoring such a string of offences, including violence and intimidation.

Attacking disabled people is a hate crime, isn’t it? Or does ‘hate crime’ only mean expressing dissident opinions?

OP, I would write to your MP about this. There’s a lot of anger about Air B&B/ subletting abuse. S/he may take it up on those grounds. I hope so.

Tibtom · 17/07/2021 22:46

Attacking anyone physically is a crime. If this crime is motivated by prejudice towards disability then it is considered a 'hate crime' and you will receive a harsher punishment than it you attacked them because they were ginger or they had an upper class accent.

Of course germaine greer knew. Of course she did. I just wish people didn't view her these days as a batty old lady.

Whatever she has said over the decades,is relevant now as it was then.

She's a fucking qween

I agree with you, but I am not sure that this is the point here. If we were actually debating a policy that existed then these would all be useful thoughts that would help inform the policy direction. However, at this stage we are not. We are making a very important point about safeguarding and trying to get the attention of government (which is proving very difficult to do).
