Fellow vipers, how do I develop more resilience?

I'm a regular on another forum and have tried subtly to make people aware of the war on women for the past three years or so. Sadly, I've had no success because I'm too scared to say what I really mean and so I've been too cryptic. All I seem to have achieved is to get the hand maidens riled up, and am now feeling very unhappy because a little band of them are working together to twist my words and make me look stupid.

So, how have those of you who are braver than me actually managed to tell the truth and was it worth the flak that came your way? I fear I shall never have the guts to fight back properly against all the propaganda that surrounds us 😥

I think I'd question what I got out of forum where people work together to bully me OP? Looking at so many online forums (the recent bullying of Milli Hill for daring to want to centre women in pregnancy) is a classic case and they do seem to generate targeting individuals who dare to think for themselves.
Do you get enough out of it to justify this treatment?

You're quite right MOW, I have enjoyed the forum in question for years and have largely managed to avoid the bullying cliques that invariably form from time to time. They seem eventually to take themselves off to FB to continue sniping at the nicer, more intelligent and thoughtful forum members from their new stronghold and things improve until the next lot come along.

This time they've come for me because they don't like my politics (well my assumed politics since I am largely apathetic when it comes to party politics) and they definitely don't like my growing hints about my GC beliefs.

I've got to decide whether to fight back or take a break until the current mob disperse to pastures new I suppose but I'm struggling to make that decision.

Some forums are for recreation not support or discussion. The personal is the political but sometimes there has to be a split in how you interact with something.

There will be no good conduct medals for those who hung on grimly in outposts and sustained fire to the point where the entire time was spent in defensive rather than advancing manoeuvres.

If it's draining you and you're making no headway - that's a recipe for a burnout and you'll sap your resources.

Another good piece of advice EA. Thanks 😊 I’m afraid that, having been a feminist for many decades, I tend to see everything through that particular prism. I might be better just enjoying the pictures, as it were, rather than trying to correct gross inaccuracies when they loom into view!
