She’s the first thing we turn to in the Saturday Times.

Excellent news, not even a little under- bridge dweller can sour this.

That's such good news. She's been one of the journalists who have helped shed light on the underhand practices and open misogyny so prevalent at the moment.
She's a gifted journalist and unafraid to tackle the toxic ones.

Fantastic I love her. She (and Giles Coren) are the only reason I still bother subscribing to the Times.

And I think Sarah D didn’t have a cleaner but thought, in concept, it was ok for a family with means to pay someone to help them.
Whereas little Owen Jones thought having a cleaner was wrong, but had a cleaner against his will?

Yes, all that happened there was that Sarah pointed out early on in lockdown that it was all proving tougher for some people than others, and one group finding it tough were working mothers who were having to juggle work, home education, cooking, laundry and housework with no possibility of getting help from a cleaner, as some would normally be doing. It turned out she didn't have a cleaner but Talcum X, who mocked her relentlessly for what he decided she'd said rather than what she'd actually said, lived in a shared flat which in normal times did indeed have a cleaner! Did that stop his followers mocking Sarah and turn them on to mocking him instead? Of course not.

And wonderful that you were paying such keen attention Vladimir's Poutine. Obviously missed the fact that Jones did indeed have a cleaner.... and I hope that you remember he also like to hunt down broody lesbians or some such so he might have that child he want. The fact that he wants a child is not the issue. The issue is the way he promoted the idea via twitter.

IIRC, Janice's own mother was a cleaner and she is not too keen on those who sneer at women who are cleaners. I always marvel at the brass neck of men who disparage women who employ cleaners and who fail to realise that most women who go through the hassle and expense of organising and paying for a cleaner are doing so because they are living with a man who doesn't pull his weight, or have ended up run ragged in a single parent household. They see it as their wife taking things easy rather than as their wife dealing with a problem that they've created.

Anyway, enough of the erroneous derail. Well done, Janice.

No, that just seems to be how it's done - it gives awards on journalism from the previous year.
