I haven't read all this report yet but am incensed by Floella's tweet.

I put forward an urgent question to ask in the @UKHouseofLords to highlight this disturbing situation but it didn’t make the ballot. I weep to think how much more abuse women and children are going to endure before legislation is implemented. @CEASEorgUK

BREAKING: CEASE has launched a report exposing the reality of the predatory online commercial porn industry, known as Big Porn, and highlights the Government’s failure to stop it. Read the #ExposeBigPorn report here:

Thanks for posting the report. Unfortunately I am not at all surprised that the government isn't interested.

I was checking the Baroness Benjamin’s title on wiki, and got to “This is the only public statue of a named black woman in the UK.”
I might have to calm down a bit before reading some more.

Shouldn't this thread be in the general feminist topic rather than the sex and gender one? I have a lot of time for Baroness Benjamin, great that she is highlighting this.

NiceGerbil · 15/07/2021 22:28

Or even on chat or AIBU...

It's about sex so why not here.

Bit of a mess really.

I think things like this of interest to many women would be good on the main boards sometimes tbh

I support wherever the OP chooses to put this thread.

I'm very impressed by CEASE and @TomFarr1

I did post this on the Chat thread and there were no responses so asked for it to be moved out of interest. I'm finding the split very difficult and now only occasionally look at chat.
Not meaning to derail this thread.

How can the protection of women and children withstand the MSM normalisation of OnlyFans and other such services as entirely reasonable and a solution for our current status as (simultaneously) consumers and sellers of product fit for porn-addled robot people (thank you, Lauren Black).

NiceGerbil · 16/07/2021 00:22

There have been a few more general womens rights things on AIBU and main chat lately with loads of responses.

If that's a side effect of the new split, then that's a good one.

FloralBunting · 16/07/2021 00:25

I could be wrong, but I think the other board 'feminists' may well view porn more benevolently than the feminists on this side of the gulag. Infuriating that the government isn't interested. But as others have said, not surprising.

NiceGerbil · 16/07/2021 00:43

Not generally I'm posting on both and the other board is business as usual pretty much but quieter obv!
